The Aqua Allegoria fragrances aim to take us to the most beautiful gardens in the world. Thus, they reflect the characteristic scents found in certain countries. Whether India, Italy, California, Réunion, Venezuela or Indonesia, each of these juices has the gift of transporting us. Guerlain's perfumers thus travel the entire planet in order to select the characteristic scents of certain regions. Of course, these raw materials are then treated with all of Guerlain's know-how and quality. Thus, the Aqua Allegoria fragrances are like miraculous recipes capable of transporting us from one place to another in the blink of an eye. This time, the house chose to bring together the pulp of the mandarin from China and the crispness of basil from India. These are two plants considered gifts of nature, of equal nobility and intense aroma. Also, like every Aqua Allegoria, Mandarine Basilic is housed in a case that is a modern take on the famous Flacon aux Abeilles created in 1853 for the Eau de Cologne Impériale, a true emblem of the house of Guerlain. Entirely transparent, it is topped with a dome carved in a honeycomb pattern that plays with light. Here, the whole appears particularly sun-drenched, revealing a juice with a golden, slightly apricot-tinted hue.
The aromatic freshness of Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic
It was to perfumer Marie Sallamagne that the house of Guerlain turned to create the fresh scent of Mandarine Basilic. From the very start, it makes no secret of its energizing, sparkling character. Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic opens with a blend of clementine, mandarin and blood orange. The whole proves to be pulpy, juicy and highly invigorating. Likewise, freshness is omnipresent in this fragrance, and the whole is accompanied by the Mediterranean luminosity of orange blossom as well as the airy quality of white peony flecked with ivy leaves. It is then that basil unfurls its singular aromatic scent. This plant, common to our dishes and gardens, appears here green and almost spicy. It resonates in a single breath with green tea before giving way to the enveloping sweetness of chamomile, amber and sandalwood. Overall, Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic is a sparkling, luminous juice evoking the scent of a picnic on the grass by a river. Close your eyes and you might almost hear birdsong.

Mandarine Basilic plunges us into the heart of an Asian garden. Indeed, mandarin was born in China. Basil, meanwhile, comes to us from India.
