The first spritz releases a duo of Calabrian bergamot and blood orange: a juicy, energetic splash reminiscent of the freshness of a tonic at daybreak. This fruity burst immediately announces the emblematic “clean” vibe of CK, but with a more pulpy intensity than in 1994.

Heart: organic tea infusion

At the heart, an infusion of organic green tea and white tea unfolds a slightly herbaceous aromatic breath. The accord evokes the steam of a hot cup, a symbol of communion and meditative pause. This modern green facet refreshes the formula and serves as a bridge between citrus brightness and woody warmth.

Base: upcycled musks & creamy woods

The sillage rests on a recycled musk from the paper industry, wrapped in a velvety Australian sandalwood. This bare-skin accord, soft yet tenacious, gives the fragrance a sensual and comfortable dimension. The result: more than ten hours of longevity on skin and a discreet but persistent halo on fabric.

Bottle: metal minimalism & eco-friendly consciousness

The iconic flask adopts a translucent metal finish and a refillable system.

Inspired by the original screw-top flask, the bottle now features an iridescent silver sheen that reveals the translucent liquid within. The pump is removable to facilitate refilling; the glass contains 15% recycled material. The FSC-certified metallized box underscores the premium dimension while reducing its weight by 25% compared to previous packaging.

Advertising campaign

Under the lens of Alasdair McLellan, the campaign brings together a diverse tribe dancing to “Blue Monday” by New Order. Shot in black and white, the film alternates between moving shots and intimate portraits, celebrating the theme “I am One”. The press visuals blend their overlapping silhouettes; beneath the CK logo, the slogan appears: “Feel the Essence”. The clean aesthetic recalls the street-cast posters of 1994, while speaking directly to social media.

Review & verdict

CK One Essence retains the unisex character and the “clean tea-musk” signature of the cult juice, but gains in sillage and woody depth. On warm skin, the blood orange becomes almost zesty; in cool weather, the tea grows denser and the musk turns velvety, giving a freshly laundered white sweater effect. Suited to all four seasons and all genders, it makes for a perfect first fragrance as well as a return to the source for fans. Moderate projection (an arm’s length away in the first hour), then an intimate halo: ideal for office, campus, city break.
