Yet while every journey is different, some of them amount to a genuine adventure and remain forever etched in memory. They are a kind of Apogée that is impossible to forget. It is precisely on this intense feeling that Jacques Cavallier Belletrud based his composition.

The Apogée of an unforgettable journey

Whether one is a casual traveler or an outright adventurer, nature sometimes offers true wonders. There are moments when one feels humbled by the splendor it provides. Facing the immensity of nature, before the splendor of a lake reflecting the moon, before an endless desert, on the edge of a steep cliff, the feeling is such that the beauty of the place invites one to recharge. It is somewhat as if certain escapes reconnect us with ourselves. It is exactly this feeling that the house of Louis Vuitton wanted to convey through its fragrance. It was conceived by the talented Jacques Cavallier Belletrud as lily of the valley raised atop an Everest of fullness. He created his fragrance as a marvel for the senses. It seems to draw on the best of nature to show the way toward fullness and relaxation. Louis Vuitton takes travelers deep into a landscape of quietude and calm.

The lightness of Louis Vuitton’s lily of the valley

Apogée appears as a concentration of innocence. Lily of the valley is undoubtedly one of the flowers best suited to symbolize this. It reveals here the purity of its small white bells and becomes a universal symbol of peace and gentleness. Louis Vuitton’s ambition was thus to make its fragrance a juice adored in the West as much as in Japan. To achieve this, lily of the valley is paired here with other white flowers. It stands alongside the opulent richness of Grasse jasmine as well as the bewitching femininity of Chinese magnolia. Likewise, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud paid tribute to one of the most emblematic ingredients of his childhood. He was born in the Grasse region, the world capital of perfumery. He therefore celebrated here the beauty of rose, a flower deeply present in that Provençal setting. Apogée contains an unprecedented quantity of Grasse May rose. This queen of perfumery is then supported by a more woody, enveloping base built on sandalwood and guaiac wood. The whole comes close to resembling a floral lace ready to enhance the bearing of any woman.
