Through this collection, the latter wished to pay tribute to Louis Vuitton's love of travel. Thus, the fragrance Contre Moi echoes rather “the fusion of two beings in travel.” Moreover, this fragrance is also imbued with this perfumer's favorite ingredient: vanilla.
The history of Louis Vuitton fragrances
The house Louis Vuitton is no stranger to perfumery. Indeed, it first ventured into the field in 1927 with the fragrances Heures d'Absence and Je, Tu, Il. These met with only lukewarm success. They were followed by Eau de Voyage, in 1946. However, no trace of these fragrances remains today. Yet this did not discourage the house from continuing along this path. Thus, in 2012, Louis Vuitton decided to recruit the talented perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud as exclusive nose. He then set out to create a collection paying tribute to Louis Vuitton's earliest creations. Furthermore, the house first became known as a specialist in leather goods, crafting trunks for travel. It was at least thanks to these high-quality products that it achieved the success it is known for today. After four years of dedicated work, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud thus unveiled his fragrance collection comprising seven perfumes. Each of them pays tribute to travel. These appear in every form and are rendered through the blending of prestigious ingredients sourced from around the world. Contre Moi, for its part, evokes the closeness of a couple during a journey.
The carnal flavor of the fragrance Contre Moi
Contre Moi is an intimate fragrance that evokes the fusion of two beings during a journey. It is a carnal, almost erotic juice capable of making one's mouth water with a single breath. It contains a concentrate of strong and authentic feelings. Moreover, it is built on one of its creator's favorite ingredients: vanilla. Furthermore, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud paired two varieties. Contre Moi is a fragrance based on Madagascar vanilla, an ingredient known for its animalic character and its leathery flavor. This is paired with tahitensis vanilla, fuller-bodied, whose black pod releases a more feminine warmth. Nevertheless, these warm and mellow ingredients are here worked with a genuine surge of freshness. It is almost as if Contre Moi were capable of turning our senses around. To this end, it combines a multitude of delicate and feminine petals such as those of orange blossom, rose, and magnolia. Finally, for added gourmand appeal and subtlety, a touch of bitter cocoa has been added to its formula.
