Today, the house has crafted an essence akin to a palpitation rich with emotion, a perfume that Louis Vuitton has chosen to name Cœur Battant. This time, however, the olfactory journey does not take us very far. Cœur Battant draws inspiration from a region well known to perfumers: the beautiful city of Grasse.

The Grasse setting as Louis Vuitton's source of inspiration

To craft its Cœur Battant perfume, Louis Vuitton drew inspiration from all the beauty of the floral fields surrounding the city of Grasse. Renowned since the 16th century as the world capital of perfumery, Grasse is bordered by countless flower fields stretching as far as the eye can see. In its town center, scents abound and inventiveness is everywhere. An emblematic site of the Côte d'Azur, Grasse skillfully combines refinement, luxury and poetry. And these are precisely the elements found in Louis Vuitton's Cœur Battant. Created by Jacques Cavallier, Cœur Battant invites you to listen to your heart and to live each moment with passion. The result is a fragrance with an irresistible character, suspended between freshness and sensuality.

The floral, modern breath of Cœur Battant

Like all Louis Vuitton fragrances, Cœur Battant comes in a minimalist bottle designed by Marc Newson. Stripped of anything superfluous, it takes the form of a glass cylinder inspired by an apothecary vial. Entirely transparent, this bottle displays only its name in black typography, while the Louis Vuitton name is engraved in relief on its walls. The whole is topped by a small black cap bearing the Louis Vuitton seal. Cœur Battant comes in three different sizes: 7.5 ml for travel, 100 ml or 200 ml. Each is protected by a white and gold cardboard box, a mark of purity and refinement.

Cœur Battant by Louis Vuitton opens with fresh, fruity notes of pear and jasmine. Particularly modern, this opening is paired with ambrette seeds, a prestigious ingredient reserved for fine perfumery and prized for its olfactory richness. Here, ambrette unfolds in turn an animalic, powdery, floral and slightly fruity breath. In a brighter surge, ylang-ylang and narcissus lend it a very feminine heart. Finally, Cœur Battant closes on a woodier base of oakmoss and patchouli. Overall, this is a feminine, poetic creation, charismatic while carrying a certain touch of nostalgia.
