Mille Feux

Mille Feux belongs to Louis Vuitton’s first set of seven fragrances, launched at the start of the 2016 season and composed entirely by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. It pairs leather with raspberry, an idea born from a raspberry-colored hide glimpsed in one of the house’s workshops, and surrounds it with osmanthus, iris and saffron. Its bottle was designed by Marc Newson.

Where to buy

Louis Vuitton returned to perfume on September 1, 2016, ninety years after its first creations of the late 1920s. The Les Parfums collection comprises seven eaux de parfum, sold in some two hundred of the house’s boutiques.

The in-house perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, composed all of them; he had left Firmenich in 2012 for Louis Vuitton. Mille Feux carries the theme of light: a golden ray, a starry sky, an aurora borealis, which Louis Vuitton associates with the magic of travel.

The starting point was a workshop visit. There the perfumer saw a craftsman turning raspberry-colored leather into a bag, and the glow of that hide, as vivid as ripe fruit, gave him the idea of pairing the scent of leather with that of the berry.

The campaign’s styling was entrusted to Marie-Amélie Sauvé. Léa Seydoux has been a Louis Vuitton ambassador since 2016.
