Libre Santal Couture is the 2026 limited edition of Yves Saint Laurent's Libre collection, and the first woody floral in the line. Anne Flipo, who already signed the 2019 pillar with Carlos Benaïm, keeps the founding contrast — lavender from France set against orange blossom from Morocco — but shifts the anchor: where the previous Couture editions descended toward vanilla, this one rests on a sandalwood from New Caledonia.

The Libre bottle is a piece of architecture before it is a container: a geometric silhouette as crisp as a tuxedo, an asymmetrical lacquered cap, and the Cassandre, the monogram designed for the house, set into the glass like a jewel rather than printed onto it.
For Santal Couture, it turns brown. A deep, glossy brown, borrowed from Yves Saint Laurent's wardrobe, crossed in contrast by the gold of the Cassandre. The edges are left open: the juice is visible, and the silhouette gains its characteristic asymmetry from it.
The choice of color is not decorative. Each Couture edition dresses the same bottle in a shade that announces the juice, and here the brown states exactly what has changed in the base.
