Since then, public enthusiasm for it has never wavered. This time, in collaboration with the Spanish company Puig, Jean-Paul Gaultier decides to bring this fragrance back into the spotlight, while giving it a new, more contrasted breath. More sensual and powerful than before, Le Male becomes Le Male Le Parfum.

Jean-Paul Gaultier's sailor gets a promotion!

Highly anticipated by fans of the house of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Le Male Le Parfum marks a turning point in this saga, preserving the original scent of its predecessors while proving more sensual and contrasted. Particularly powerful, this juice is aimed at a charismatic man, aware of his assets and proud to make the most of them. The maritime universe, meanwhile, is still present, as shown by the numerous advertising films shot by Jean-Paul Gaultier for the occasion. In a more nocturnal setting, the sailor climbs to the upper deck. Eyes fixed on the horizon, he breathes deeply the sea air, letting the spray glide over his muscular body. Not quite an admiral, but still very admirable, the sexiest sailor in the world has just been upgraded: now he is a captain.

Le Male Le Parfum, a fresh yet warm lavender

In terms of scent, Le Male Le Parfum still draws on the iconic lavender scent of its predecessors. Indeed, this is Jean-Paul Gaultier's true signature. It was therefore unthinkable to do without this Mediterranean ingredient. However, this flower from the Garrigue reveals a new facet of its personality here. Le Male Le Parfum first relies on a spicy freshness through contact with Cardamom. Then, its sillage gradually becomes warmer and woodier. Oriental Vanilla heightens its sensuality, while leaving behind an infinitely powdery scent.

When Jean-Paul Gaultier's bottle takes on a black lacquer finish

Finally, as for the bottle, forget Jean-Paul Gaultier's traditional blue coloring. This time, the sailor has donned his most elegant suit. While his bottle is still dressed in a striped sailor shirt, it is more shimmering than ever, with a few gold details scattered here and there. Some might even say he seems to have put on his finest tuxedo! The whole is nonetheless still presented in a tin can-shaped box. In a spirit that remains offbeat, Jean-Paul Gaultier this time bets on refinement. Le Male Le Parfum comes in bottles of 75 or 125 ml.
Le Male Le Parfum is on the upper deck, seductive and chic. With his shirt open and flapping in the wind, his chest is free to tease the breeze.

The advertising

Since its launch in the 90s, Jean-Paul Gaultier's Le Mâle perfume has depicted the portrait of a young ship's boy. In 2020, however, the sailor seems to have been promoted... He is now a captain! Forget the engine room of the past, he now proudly climbs to the deck of his ocean liner. Jean-Paul Gaultier thus presents a new masculine fragrance, derived from his cult perfume, but possessing a more intense and sensual scent. In an oriental, woody breath, Le Mâle Le Parfum intoxicates with its charisma. What's more, it also comes with a new black and gold bottle, as well as an all-new advertising clip. So how about diving into its universe by discovering its advertisement together?

Welcome to Jean-Paul Gaultier's harbor!

The advertisement for Le Mâle Le Parfum once again reinterprets the image of the sailor. This film is also accompanied by the music inseparable from the Le Mâle collection: the classic opera piece Casta Diva from La Norma. It all begins with a view of sailors on the dock, busy unloading cargo, tying knots and cleaning the deck. Some of them also take the time to enjoy a brief, muscular break for a round of arm wrestling. Then, in the distance, the song of a mermaid rings out, perched atop a lighthouse whose silhouette resembles an enormous bottle of Jean-Paul Gaultier's Classique. The young woman with angelic blonde hair does not fail to draw the attention of all the ship's boys. It is then that Jean-Paul Gaultier's muscular ambassador rushes toward her. Not hesitating to elbow his way past the other sailors to reach her, he climbs the lighthouse steps at full speed, under the amused gaze of the crowd and a young ship's boy. It is thus that he shares with her a passionate kiss. Finally, the advertisement for Le Mâle Le Parfum ends with a view of its bottle, emerging from a gold porthole.

What of Le Mâle Le Parfum, an intense juice in a dark, luxurious bottle?

Aesthetically, Le Mâle Le Parfum comes in a bust-shaped bottle. However, unlike its predecessors, this new bottle takes on black and gold tones. It thus becomes more luxurious and refined. Undeniably, Jean-Paul Gaultier's sailor has been promoted! As for its scent, here too, Le Mâle Le Parfum is not meant to go unnoticed. Its iconic Lavender is still present. It is accompanied by a more powdery, refined Iris. Wood and Vanilla intertwine at its base and offer a voluptuous, sensual breath, contrasting with the natural freshness and energy of Cardamom.

Undeniably, though the setting has changed and Jean-Paul Gaultier's sailor has indeed climbed the ranks, he still does not seem accustomed to resisting the call of the sirens…
