Viktor & Rolf

Spicebomb

Spicebomb, a fragrance with an explosive note. While some fragrances are designed to be delicate and go almost unnoticed, other creators, on the other hand, opt for more character and opulence. In this case, discretion does not seem to clearly be to the taste of the house Viktor & Rolf! Each of the house's fragrances is made to turn heads.

They are true olfactory bombs and this is noticeable right down to their bottle. Focus on Spicebomb, considered a true sensation grenade!

The history of Spicebomb

While Spicebomb appeared in 2012, its story, meanwhile, began in 2005. Indeed, it was on that date that the house Viktor & Rolf launched its first bomb named Flowerbomb. It was a floral and sensual fragrance housed in a luxurious grenade-shaped bottle. It immediately won over women, and thus men began to envy the explosive personality of this inimitable fragrance. As the duo Viktor & Rolf explains, they very often heard: After creating the most explosive feminine fragrance there is, Flowerbomb, we men felt a twinge of jealousy: why did we not have the right to our own bomb? This is how the Viktor & Rolf brand set out to create its masculine counterpart. Just like its predecessor, Spicebomb is a contrasted, sophisticated, charismatic and irresistibly sexy fragrance. It manages to surprise from its very first breath and becomes immediately addictive. It is both elegant and strong, intense and subtle. Moreover, it is without doubt its richness that is the source of all its appeal. Spicebomb is a fragrance that does not beat around the bush. It imposes its fervor from the outset, yet it remains no less the olfactory interpretation of a man of timeless elegance, intelligent and sensitive, strong and virile.

The spicy and seductive scent of the Viktor & Rolf man

Spicebomb is designed like its predecessor. If Flowerbomb was an explosion of flowers, this one is an explosion of spices. It opens with an addictive accord based on chili pepper and saffron. The whole proves to be quite impertinent while taking on an ultimate chic linked to the presence of this red gold. Likewise, the whole is enhanced with a typically masculine roundness based on leather and tobacco. Thus, Spicebomb is an animalic fragrance possessing a raw force. Likewise, its distinguished virility is further accentuated by the presence of vetiver. The whole remains no less energizing. Zesty and fresh notes of grapefruit and bergamot reinforce the vibrancy of the whole, while cold spices resonate like an icy bite. In addition, Spicebomb contains elemi and pink pepper. Likewise, Spicebomb proves to be just as striking in terms of design. It is housed in a grenade-shaped bottle and thus appears as a chic and sophisticated weapon. If that weapon was crafted like a diamond for women, it is now more masculine than ever. Its color codes are black, gray and silver. The whole is particularly masculine while never lacking in class. Finally, to release the fragrance, one simply needs to pull the pin.

Olfastory’s review

In 2005, the house Viktor & Rolf decided to blow up the codes of feminine perfumery, by creating a first bomb of flowers, a fragrance for women, sensual to excess: Flowerbomb. Then, it was necessary to wait until 2012 to see the appearance of its masculine counterpart: Spicebomb, a new explosion of spices. After creating the most explosive feminine fragrance there is, Flowerbomb, we men felt a twinge of jealousy: why did we not have the right to our own bomb? But is this fragrance just as effective as its feminine predecessor? Here is our opinion regarding this spicy and virile wave.

The advertising

Spicebomb was born in 2012, and its success was immediate. In the image of the brand Viktor & Rolf, the masculine fragrance Spicebomb is a detonation full of character and boldness. Sensual and sophisticated, the masculine bomb is nonetheless full of seduction. It gives off spicy tonalities heightened by a leather accord and refreshed by citrus notes. This beauty elixir is signed Olivier Polge and presents itself as a bomb ready to be unpinned.

The virility of the Spicebomb Viktor & Rolf fragrance embodied by Sean O'Pry

Sean O'Pry was born in 1989 in Georgia, in the United States. Very quickly, he moved toward a modeling career, and numerous fashion houses vied for him. With his ultra-blue eyes and his height of 1.85 m, Sean O'Pry is considered a handsome man. With his lips, said to be full, Sean O'Pry is without doubt the most sensual man of the moment... This charismatic young American has already worked for Calvin Klein, Versace or Ralph Lauren. He has also walked the runway for Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel or Hermès, suffice it to say that Sean O'Pry is a fixture of fashion. For 20 seconds, and in black and white images, Sean O'Pry can be seen bare-chested, moving in front of the camera. This seducer at heart pairs wonderfully well with the bomb that has just exploded before him. Considered the best-paid American top model of the moment, Sean O'Pry does not shy away from his success and continues to rack up achievements. In 2015, he would also be chosen to represent a major fragrance, One Million by Paco Rabanne... Where will the O'Pry bomb stop?

The Spicebomb ad and the music of Kazaky

To accompany this sensual clip, the house Viktor & Rolf chose a song by Kazaky simply called Love. It is to unambiguous lyrics, you want me, you love me, you hate me, I do not care..., that Sean O'Pry strikes a decidedly glamorous pose. Kazaky is a group made up of Ukrainian singers. This boy band, composed of Oleh Zhezhel, Artur Archibaz, Kyryll Fedorenko and Stas Pavlov, is even considered the Ukrainian Lady Gaga. Pop music against a backdrop of gay singers is the trademark of the group Kazaky. This advertising clip reveals a perfect osmosis between the model, the song, and the bottle, offering a fragrance of character and quality.

Just as devastating as the feminine bomb, Spicebomb is ready to be unpinned. Both sensual and bold, Spicebomb is a fragrance for charismatic and self-assured men, in the image of Sean O'Pry. Because he is a seducer at heart, Sean O'Pry keeps multiplying his appearances and endorsements. A seductive masculine figure that keeps rising.
