Where to buy

One of them, however, stands out from all the others: Montblanc. Initially, the house grew and achieved its success through writing. For more than 100 years, Montblanc has crafted exceptional pens, tokens of luxury and high quality. In 2020, Montblanc nevertheless gifts us with a new feminine perfume. So, what is Montblanc Signature really about, a fragrance designed for an unforgettable woman?

Montblanc Signature, a contrasted and opulent perfume

Montblanc Signature is an infinitely luxurious perfume that embodies the image of a strong, ambitious and unforgettable woman. So how is all of this translated on an olfactory level? To answer this question, the Montblanc house called upon two talented perfumers: Natalie Gracia Cetto and Guillaume Flavigny. Together, they chose to imagine a musky, opulent and floral juice. With Montblanc Signature, everything begins with a tangy, refreshing breath of clementine. Then, the heart of this perfume becomes more poetic. It is enriched with an enormous bouquet of magnolia, peony and ylang-ylang. The floral exoticism of this fragrance is also brightened by white musk, before fading into a sultry, comforting base of benzoin and vanilla. With allure and elegance, I wanted to breathe more light, more air and more transparency into Montblanc perfumery, explains Natalie Gracia Cetto.

Montblanc chooses to present its perfume in an inkwell

To recall its prestigious past rooted in the world of writing, the house of Montblanc chose to present its fragrance in a cubic bottle, whose appearance closely resembles that of an inkwell. Of course, this choice was not made at random and its design is the work of designer Mark Eisen. Here, the different faces of the Montblanc cube are sculpted like those of a jewel. Opalescent, this bottle has a white lacquered interior, as well as a few gold details. As a side note, the gold elements present on its visual echo the appearance of the Meisterstück, one of Montblanc's most famous pens. The brand's six-pointed star, meanwhile, is proudly displayed atop its cap.

Diane Ducret, new face of the Montblanc campaign

From then on, all that was missing was a face to embody the image of this perfume. And here again, it is all a matter of writing: Montblanc Signature is represented on screen by best-selling author Diane Ducret, whose recent novel, La Dictatrice, is already generating a great deal of buzz. The Franco-Belgian writer thus becomes the symbol of femininity according to Montblanc, that of an unforgettable woman, author of her own story.

The advertising

A writer rather than a model

Writer Diane Ducret announced in June 2020 her role as the face of the campaign for Signature, a choice of an essayist rather than a model.

Diane Ducret, a Franco-Belgian writer, announced on June 8, 2020 on her own account that she was becoming the face of the campaign for Signature. The perfume press and an interview with L'Officiel subsequently confirmed this status, along with the choice of an essayist standing in as the advertising face.

The choice of Diane Ducret is reported as that of a woman who decides to be the author of her own life. The only documented photo credit, a portrait by Cédric Bihr taken at the Café de Flore in Paris, accompanies the September 2020 interview without being identified as the advertising visual itself.
