Diorling
Diorling appeared in 1963, the first fragrance Dior launched after the couturier's death, and Paul Vacher signed the formula. A leathery chypre built on English style, on tweed and riding boots. François Demachy reorchestrated it for Les Créations de Monsieur Dior: bergamot at the opening, jasmine at the centre, leather and patchouli at the base.

Where to buy
Diorling entered the Dior catalogue in 1963. Paul Vacher, who had signed Miss Dior with Jean Carles, composed the formula. It is the first fragrance the house launched after the death of Christian Dior, six years earlier.
The English style
The name plays on the word darling. The fragrance pays tribute to a British elegance made of tweed, leather gloves, pearls and riding boots, that of country houses and of sixties London.
François Demachy's reorchestration
Dior reopened its archives in the early twenty-tens and entrusted the reissue of the juice to François Demachy, its perfumer-creator. Diorling joined Les Créations de Monsieur Dior, the line the house devotes to its classics, as a hundred-millilitre eau de toilette.
The house speaks of it today as a chypre full of spirit, with British accents, a composition of character for a conquering femininity. The intensity it states for this juice is three out of four.
What changes on 1 October 2026
Diorling is one of the thirteen fragrances Francis Kurkdjian is restoring under the name Dioriginals. Dior's perfume creation director worked on them for four years, to recover the original formula where regulations and raw materials had eroded it.
Kurkdjian places Diorling in the first of the project's two periods, Dior in Grasse, alongside the masterpieces of Edmond Roudnitska. There he salutes the floral chypres that shaped the olfactory identity of an entire era.
The thirteen receive the Ovale bottle: clear glass, a hemisphere-shaped stopper, a white cord tied at the neck. Serge Heftler-Louiche, co-founder and first director of Parfums Christian Dior, had designed it in 1948.
