Mango

Mango is the fruit of the mango tree. The latter is a tropical tree of the Anacardiaceae family. It is currently found in Brazil, Ivory Coast, Asia and India. There are approximately 2,500 different varieties of mango, which is the most consumed tropical fruit in the world. The king of fruits, as it is sometimes called, is particularly rich in carotene and provitamin A. Mango is juicy, fleshy, sweet and fibrous. The use of mango in perfumery brings a sparkling touch and a wave of freshness.

Mango and its invitation to travel

Mango is mainly used in feminine creations. It brings its fruity and exotic touch with lactonic accents. Its scent evokes tropical fruits and invites travel. To obtain a greener note in perfumery, green mango is used instead. Irresistibly appealing, fruits increasingly attract noses. Mango itself is often used in eaux de toilette or in summer fragrances. It is generally found as a top note, and sometimes as a heart note, as in Kenzo's Kenzo Jungle, accompanied by licorice and ylang-ylang. In the top notes, clove is discovered with cumin. Finally, in the base notes, vanilla, amber, Cashmeran and patchouli mix judiciously together. This spicy oriental is surprising, thanks to the blend of spices, fruits, licorice and amber. The fragrance is powerful, even elusive.

Mango and other olfactory fragrances

Very fruity and sweet, mango pairs with difficulty with olfactory families. It is mainly found with floral fragrances, as is the case for Paco Rabanne's Lady Million Eau My Gold and Hugo Boss's Boss Woman. In these two perfumes, mango sits as a top note and accompanies flowers such as iris or violet. Like other fruits, mango also pairs with woody fragrances such as amber, vetiver, cedar, sandalwood or patchouli. This is the case for the men's fragrance Kenzo Homme Night, where mango appears as a heart note, accompanied by geranium and mugwort. In the top notes, coriander, grapefruit and a note of cardamom are discovered. Guaiac wood, tonka bean and vetiver are among the base notes. Kenzo decided to revisit its men's fragrance with a more sensual and nocturnal touch. Kenzo Homme Night is energetic and magnetic, aimed at seductive yet playful men.
