Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée, an invitation to reconnect
Let us begin by setting the scene and exploring the territory that the Hermès house wished to have us discover... Today, men have access to a whole host of resources. We live in a consumer society that sometimes tends to make us forget where the essential lies. Yet the fragrance Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée was precisely designed to remind men where they come from. It rests on a powerful word: the Earth. It is an evocation of the beginning, of our founding material and of where it all started. Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée offers men an initiatory journey at the heart of the elements. It encourages one to refocus on the raw materials essential to our existence, and more particularly water turned to ice.
A scent close to that of the very first Terre d’Hermès
In terms of scent, in this fragrance, Hermès sends a wind of intense freshness sweeping through perfumery. With this new creation, Christine Nagel explains, I sought to express the intense freshness of a primal earth covered in frost. This translates into a scent that is both new yet close to that of the very first Terre d’Hermès. Citrus fruits were already present in the original version of this collection. However, bergamot and grapefruit have now been replaced by citron. Pink pepper, meanwhile, has been substituted with juniper berries. This incisive and very refreshing ingredient is paired here with the power of Timut pepper. As a reminder, the first Terre d’Hermès included black pepper in its formula. Finally, just like its predecessor, Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée concludes with a woody and mineral base. In other words, if you usually enjoy the scent of Terre d’Hermès, you cannot help but be won over by the new Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée.
Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée features a more environmentally friendly bottle
As for the bottle, here again, its belonging to the great Hermès family is obvious from the very sight of its glass case. It remains slender and luminous. It preserves exactly the same silhouette as its predecessors, namely the iconic Hermès H bottle. To evoke the icy side of the fragrance Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée, its glass walls have been frosted and the whole is also topped with a brushed aluminum cap. Another novelty: it is a more environmentally friendly fragrance. Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée is made solely from recyclable materials. What is more, its bottle can be refilled in order to limit its carbon footprint.
