Indeed, this animal once again draws us into the Indian atmosphere. As a point of interest, the peacock is a sacred bird in India. It is omnipresent in Hindu art and, given the richness of its heritage within the religious world, it was even named the national bird of India in 1963. The peacock is a symbol of immortality and fertility. Many deities have been associated with it, and Indian mythology even tells that Buddha was reincarnated as a peacock. This animal is a symbol of royalty, as evidenced by the Peacock Throne, created by the maharajah Shah Jahan. Thus, the very first Shalimar and this new Limited Edition now seem intimately linked.

So, what does the sublime bottle of the Limited Edition of Shalimar Souffle de Parfum hold? Like each of Guerlain's products, its fragrance was composed by the house's official nose, Thierry Wasser. Its scent opens on fresh, sparkling, citrus notes of bergamot, lemon and mandarin. Then, this sharp and invigorating opening gives way to a more floral heart. It contains one of India's most sacred flowers: sambac jasmine. This is paired with the sun-kissed luminosity of orange blossom. To enhance it and give it a honeyed effect, Thierry Wasser subjected it to a very particular distillation. This only increases the floral power of this fragrance. Finally, vanilla takes over and wraps the whole in a sensual, suave aura. White musks complete the enveloping of this juice, making it more addictive than ever.
