La Fille de l'Air

Courrèges announced La Fille de l’Air in March 2015 and launched it in June. Yonder magazine counted it as the house’s sixth fragrance, and Now Smell This presented it as a fragrance for women, offered in 50 and 90 milliliters of eau de parfum. Fabrice Pellegrin of Firmenich signed it.

A launch in the air

The fragrance debuted on June 1, 2015, exclusively on board Air France planes for fifteen days, before an international release on June 15. Beauty Packaging noted that it also became the first fragrance sold directly on the airline’s website.

According to Yonder, the pairing was no accident: Air France’s long-haul flights had carried Courrèges fashion around the world, and Courrèges outfits dress the airline’s “France is in the Air” campaign.

The 2021 relaunch

Appointed artistic director of Courrèges in September 2020, Nicolas Di Felice relaunched the house’s perfumery for its sixtieth anniversary. In the fall of 2021, five eaux de parfum came out: three new ones, Slogan, Seconde Peau and C, alongside L’Empreinte and La Fille de l’Air.

The house presents this Fille de l’Air as its original, unchanged version. FashionNetwork speaks instead of a new version, brought into line with European regulations; it also notes that L’Empreinte, for its part, keeps nothing of its predecessor but the name.

What the house says today

Courrèges makes La Fille de l’Air a feminine icon of the house: a muse of freedom, a nomadic figure of lightness and independence who inspires as much as she fascinates. The fragrance comes in 30 and 100 milliliters, and now also in 50 milliliters.
