Where to buy

Dealing with politics with extravagance, it was released just as the presidential elections had taken place, themselves accompanied by their fair share of scandals. The timing of its release was absolutely perfect! Today, right after the scandal involving Minister Castaner, Jean-Paul Gaultier repeats the experience and once again rides the waves of our political scene. From now on, his new fragrance is called Scandal A Paris.

Scandal A Paris, when Jean-Paul Gaultier's wild spirit enters politics

Scandal A Paris is a slightly provocative fragrance, portraying a scandalously libertine woman, both determined and provocative. Its philosophy is the same as that of its predecessor. Scandal A Paris sounds like a manifesto of freedom. We wanted to reconnect with the spirit of Jean-Paul Gaultier, the enfant terrible of fashion, who blends luxury, the popular and a sense of humor, details Johanna Worth, associate director of the Mazarine agency, behind the advertising for Scandal. Women today are free, they have two lives, two jobs. We do not know whether the young woman here is a showgirl or an escort, everyone can imagine what they want. But it had to be a little shocking, not some timid little thing. It is a manifesto for the freedom to be oneself. Far more than a simple fragrance, this creation is a message addressed to women: no matter what others think, the essential thing is to follow one's own path, to enjoy life and to live ever more experiences.

Scandal A Paris, a gourmand and smooth essence

On a purely olfactory level, this translates into a succession of three gourmand ingredients, gradually warming up, to reach a smoother sensuality. Created by Daphné Bugey, Scandal A Paris opens first on a green scent, juicy and light with power. Its heart, meanwhile, is enriched with one of the most famous flowers in feminine perfumery: jasmine. Opulent and luminous, it engages the path of seduction. The base of Scandal A Paris then becomes more sultry, drawing on all the gourmand character of honey.

The return of Jean-Paul Gaultier's legs

If the scent of Scandal A Paris is a genuine novelty, its bottle, on the other hand, remains largely the same as that of its predecessor. Sitting atop a pink base, both feminine and intimate, an unexpected cap gives its visual its full personality. It forms two feminine legs rising toward the sky. The addictive quality of Jean-Paul Gaultier's fragrance is total, so much so that one could almost believe having fallen right into it! More than ever, Scandal A Paris has what it takes to turn our heads! As its pretty cap suggests, this is indeed a truly head-turning juice!

Olfastory’s review

Why choose the Scandal à Paris fragrance by Gaultier? Jean Paul Gaultier is a designer often nicknamed the enfant terrible of fashion. It must be said that he does nothing conventional and cares little for the conventional codes of luxury! Jean-Paul Gaultier never misses an opportunity to surprise his audience, yet remains highly regarded. After putting men in skirts or dressing one of the biggest stars on the planet in a corset with pointed cups, Jean-Paul Gaultier found it entirely natural to create a fragrance named Scandal. Originally created in 2017, this fragrance is now back in the spotlight and is now called Scandal à Paris.

The advertising

Jean-Paul Gaultier is a designer who has never backed down from any challenge. He put men in skirts, gave Madonna futuristic cone-shaped cups, or had complete unknowns walk the highest runways. Many then cried scandal… But it took more than that to unsettle the famous couturier! Jean-Paul Gaultier is one with scandal and delights in it. This is how he created a fragrance named Scandal in 2017. Today, this juice is back in the spotlight in a third version, Scandal A Paris, considered by its creator to be the most sensual of them all. So how did Jean-Paul Gaultier choose to bring this new fragrance to life visually?

Irina Shayk, face of the campaign for Jean-Paul Gaultier

For the fragrance Scandal A Paris, Jean-Paul Gaultier set his sights on one of the sexiest models on the planet: the talented Irina Shayk, a model of Russian origin who has already collaborated with numerous luxury brands. On every front at once, Irina Shayk is absolutely everywhere: on the covers of the biggest fashion magazines, on runways and in countless advertising campaigns. Here, Jean-Paul Gaultier calls upon her most sensual side. Irina Shayk bares herself and plays the femme fatale to perfection!

Scandal A Paris is unveiled in an unexpected short film

Scandal A Paris relies on a black-and-white advertisement, which already promises to stand out. The scene takes place in a fashionable Parisian restaurant, where each guest is elegantly dressed, duly observing every rule of propriety. Irina Shayk then makes her entrance into the room and crosses it with a determined stride, wearing nothing but a tuxedo jacket and high heels! The crowd immediately cries scandal. Guests cover their eyes so as not to witness the spectacle. The waiters even drop their lobsters! But it takes more than that for Irina Shayk to reconsider… The pretty brunette continues on her way, defiantly holding the gaze of the entire assembly. Only one guest does not seem the least bit shocked by this outfit: the famous Jean-Paul Gaultier, who awaits Irina Shayk and seems to be enjoying the spectacle. The advertisement ends with these few words: We love this scandal!

Scandal A Paris, when lightness becomes infinitely sexy!

Scandal A Paris brings a new lightness to this collection. Its former gardenia now disappears in favor of a more opulent jasmine and a languorous tuberose. Honey, meanwhile, gives it an unexpected dose of gourmand character. As sultry as could be, it only amplifies the sensuality of the woman wearing this fragrance. Pear nonetheless preserves the freshness of this juice, making it a composition much appreciated for the spring season. Scandal A Paris is ideally designed for all free and light-hearted women, who enjoy everything and do not hesitate to defy the established order. The message could not be clearer, and it must be acknowledged that Jean-Paul Gaultier's new advertisement fits this new essence perfectly!
