Daphné Bugey

Perfumery is a very particular field of activity that only a select few can claim to master. The perfumer's craft resembles no other and combines in-depth knowledge of chemistry, heightened creativity but also unparalleled motivation. Moreover, it is very difficult to become a perfumer without coming from a family steeped in this world or without having grown up in the Grasse region, the world capital of perfumery. Yet some manage it, as was notably the case for Daphné Bugey, a perfumer now recognized and having signed numerous fragrances celebrated worldwide.

The beginnings of Daphné Bugey

Daphné Bugey was born in Grenoble and owes her first encounter with the world of perfumery to a family summer trip to the Grasse region, when she was barely 12 years old. From that moment on, she resolved to make this new passion her career. She thus enrolled in the program at ISIPCA, the Institut Supérieur International du Parfum, de la Cosmétique et de l'Aromatique alimentaire. Located in Versailles, it is the only institution of higher education intended for aspiring creators who do not come from the world of perfumery. Once she had her diploma in hand, Daphné Bugey went to work for the Firmenich company, starting in 1997. In fact, she has never left it. This Swiss company is today considered a giant of perfumery, called upon by the greatest houses to develop their new fragrances. Its expertise, dating back to 1895, makes it a safe bet in perfumery today. It is therefore a genuine pleasure for Daphné Bugey to work for a company with such a reputation.

The many successes of Daphné Bugey

Thanks to her collaboration with the Firmenich company, Daphné Bugey has had the pleasure of working with the greatest luxury houses. She is behind the fragrances A Scent for Issey Miyake, Ultrared Man for Paco Rabanne, Hugo XX and Hugo XY for Hugo Boss, and Kenzo Amour for the eponymous brand. Of course, this list is far from exhaustive, and these numerous creations only strengthen Daphné Bugey's reputation year after year.

Nevertheless, Daphné Bugey remains a rather discreet person. She is not in the habit of discussing her tastes or her creative methods. So the best way to grasp her world remains to smell her finest fragrances...
