Zadig & Voltaire launched This is Her! in September 2016 alongside its masculine counterpart, This is Him!. Sidonie Lancesseur and Michel Almairac composed a woody gourmand floral: sambac jasmine and pink pepper, a chestnut and vanilla accord, and a sandalwood base, the house signature. Michelle Wong mostly finds a creamy, sweet wood, quiet but long-lasting.

In September 2016, Michelle Wong, on Lab Muffin Beauty Science, judged it mostly woody and gourmand: a creamy, sweet scent in which a little jasmine keeps it from smelling like dessert. Sandalwood and vanilla dominate, while pink pepper and chestnut stay at the edges.

She compares it to a smoother version of L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Bois Farine. It lasts a long time but projects little, soft and comforting, worn close to the body; she was surprised to find something like it in a mainstream store and planned to wear it a lot.

In March 2025, Elena Vosnaki, founder of Perfume Shrine, devoted a study to the fragrance’s success. Beneath its gourmand notes, she smells a milkiness that turns metallic, clean and slightly shrill, carried by starched musks and an abstract floral, in the manner of Cacharel’s Noa.

She finds it neither loud nor distinctive enough for anyone to notice the woman wearing it. Its success would lie in that body-lotion effect, a familiar and reassuring cocoon, and in the white bottle, whose black lettering does much for its fame.
