This is Her !

Zadig & Voltaire describes a woody gourmand floral and names five materials: sambac jasmine, pink pepper, chestnut, vanilla and sandalwood. Its launch text arranges them in three stages: a floral bouquet, a half-chestnut, half-vanilla accord, and a milky wood to finish.

Sambac jasmine opens the fragrance, lifted by pink pepper, which the house calls sulfurous. For Michelle Wong, who wore it from its release, pink pepper and jasmine stay at the edges: the jasmine adds just enough flower to keep the whole from turning into dessert.

Heart

The house speaks of a rock-style sweetness, half chestnut, half vanilla: this is the fragrance’s gourmand accord. Michelle Wong smells the vanilla first; the chestnut, more discreet, gives the whole its creamy texture.

Base

Sandalwood holds the base. The house makes it its olfactory signature, a powerful, smooth and slightly milky wood, also present in This is Him!: it links the two fragrances of the pair. Michelle Wong ranks it, with vanilla, among the clearest notes.

Whipped cream, silk tree blossom and cashmere wood, often associated with This is Her!, appear nowhere in the house’s texts, neither in 2016 nor today.

What the label declares

The current list begins with alcohol, fragrance and water. It includes two UV filters, avobenzone and ethylhexyl salicylate, which protect the juice from light, and six allergens that must be declared: coumarin, limonene, benzyl benzoate, isoeugenol, linalool and benzyl alcohol.

The last component, CI 60730, is a violet colorant that gives the liquid its color. It contains neither BHT nor any other antioxidant, in line with the BHT-free formula the house now announces.
