Miss Dior Essence

Dior breaks the Essence down into three accords. At the top, a round, syrupy note of blackberry jam, intensely gourmand, blended with elderflower, whose density surprises with its vivid freshness. The heart rests on the jasmine bouquet, true to the story of the 1947 composition, made more radiant by the fruit.

The house specifies a sensual jasmine sambac, lifted by the blackberry and elderflower accord. The choice reconnects with the original Miss Dior, whose heart already rested on jasmine: it is the thread that ties this essence to the house’s first perfume.

An oak base

In the base, dense, enveloping oak notes give the perfume its intensity and a confident sensuality. Kurkdjian speaks of a dark woody oak base on which the jasmine and the fruit lean.

What the label declares

The ingredient list that accompanies the essence de parfum in the European Union is brief: besides alcohol, fragrance and water, it names linalool, limonene, geraniol, citronellol, benzyl salicylate, methyl anthranilate, hexyl cinnamal, citral, benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate and eugenol.

A filter, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, and a stabilizer protect the formula from light, and four colorants, CI 14700, CI 60730, CI 17200 and CI 47005, give the juice its pink tint.
