100 years after its creation, the Dior house still manages to surprise us... In 2022, it decided to entirely rewrite the composition of one of its greatest feminine perfumes. J'Adore by Dior becomes J'Adore Parfum d'Eau. Presented in a pearlescent, immaculate white bottle, it loses nothing of its longevity. However, it offers an entirely new way of wearing fragrance, by doing away entirely with alcohol in its composition. Let us look in more detail at how it was designed.
How did Dior manage not to put alcohol in J'Adore Parfum d'Eau?
J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior is a creation built on a genuine technical feat. Indeed, traditionally, alcohol is inseparable from perfumery. It is considered a key element in the composition of fragrances. More precisely, it is used to facilitate the distillation of fragrant oils and to increase the longevity of perfumes on the skin. The only drawback: it is also very drying and irritating. Several houses have therefore already attempted to create alcohol-free perfumes. However, these had to be shaken before use, to allow their watery part and their oily phase to mix. What is more, they were often deemed sticky on the skin. Yet with J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior, this is not the case at all! The formula of this perfume was achieved through a nano-emulsion technique, already tested on cosmetic skincare products and acquired by Dior from a Japanese laboratory. This technique aims to blend water and floral oils under high pressure. From then on, there is no longer any need to shake the perfume bottle before using it. The texture of J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior is not sticky at all. Better still: it no longer merely coats the skin as a traditional perfume would. It melts into the skin and becomes one with it. In terms of longevity, J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior lasts just as long as the original J'adore by Dior from 1999.
Neroli, the star ingredient of J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior
J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior is built essentially around Vallauris neroli. Yet this also fits into a sustainable development approach. Grown in France, exclusively for Dior, it is an olfactory marvel cultivated 1000 km from Paris, on a hill outside Cap d'Antibes. Vallauris neroli comes from the century-old estate of Christelle Archer, who has been collaborating with the Dior house since 2017.
The other floral raw materials contained in J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior
Vallauris neroli is not the only white flower found in J'Adore Parfum d'Eau by Dior. In fact, this feminine perfume is such a generous bouquet that it is almost impossible to distinguish the flowers from one another. However, it does contain velvety notes emanating from Chinese magnolia. The star of women's perfumery, rose, is also present. Lastly, sambac jasmine envelops the wearer in one final, sun-kissed, generous and opulent breath.
