A new Dior Homme, even more virile and sensual Christian Dior always had a very free vision of fashion: having founded his house just after the war, in 1947, he brought a wind of change into the daily lives of women and men. This is how he became the undisputed giant of luxury and French elegance.
The Dior Homme fragrance has always stood out for its powdery sillage and highly elegant notes. Famous worldwide, this fragrance has already been reinvented many times, becoming an Eau de Toilette in 2011. Yet it is precisely this version's formula that is now being completely transformed. Dior Homme Eau de Toilette of 2020 is entirely different from its predecessors, even though it owes its existence to the same perfumer: François Demachy. So how did Dior go about embodying this change in terms of bottle design? What does this new fragrance look like? Here is everything about its bottle!
Dior Homme Eau de Toilette, a bottle that blends contrasts and paradoxes
Just like the scent it holds, the bottle of Dior Homme Eau de Toilette is particularly contrasted. It blends elements that seem to oppose each other in every way, while nonetheless forming a perfect harmony. On one side, its bottle traces a thick rectangle of glass, with an imposing stature and very sharp edges. However, inside this rectangle lies a hidden glass compartment, with far less strict angles and much softer, hazier edges. This gives it a touch of originality, while suggesting that the robust man conceals within him a much more tender heart. Likewise, while this bottle is entirely transparent, a thick opaque black cylinder plunges into its juice. Here again, the contrasts are striking, but so well orchestrated that everything seems designed to fit together in perfect harmony.
Dior Homme Eau de Toilette, the alliance of three colors
Dior Homme Eau de Toilette is a bottle stripped of all superfluity, built around three main colors, each with its own meaning. Do not be fooled by its apparent simplicity. With this bottle, everything has been thought through down to the smallest detail. The transparency of this container evokes purity and timelessness. Undoubtedly, Dior Homme Eau de Toilette speaks to every man. Its amber-gold juice, for its part, evokes two things at once. On one side, it references gold, the material most coveted by men. In this sense, Dior Homme Eau de Toilette is a precious liquid that no one seems able to resist. Its amber, slightly caramelized side, meanwhile, refers back to the woody scent it contains. Finally, a few touches of black appear on this bottle, notably on the square bearing its name, as well as on the cylinder plunging into its fragrance. Here again, one should not see this as a symbol of sadness or nostalgia. The black chosen by Dior instead echoes timeless elegance. It evokes more the image of a tuxedo worn with class and confidence.
On screen, all these elements are brilliantly carried by Robert Pattinson, once again the face of the Dior Homme campaign.
