L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci is a fragrance owed to Francis Fabron. Floral and spicy, it featured a short formula, of barely thirty components, very floral and airy, in total departure from the often heady compositions of its time. Evocative of timelessness, it celebrated the joy of living freely again after the war. A true historical testament, L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci was born in an atmosphere of change and innovation. It reflects a Paris full of surprise. As for the bottle, it came in a crystal case signed Lalique, forming a yellow swirl itself topped by a cap shaped like two doves.

A new, brighter and creamier recipe

L'Air du Temps à Paris chez Antoinette Poisson transforms its former composition and becomes more enveloping, creamy and radiant. To develop this new fragrance, Nina Ricci called on perfumer Calice Becker. At first, the creator chose a fresh and sparkling opening, based on pink pepper and yuzu, a small Japanese citron. Then, the heart of L'Air du Temps à Paris chez Antoinette Poisson becomes more floral. It relies on a trio of tuberose, jasmine and ylang-ylang. Its round and generous heart is finally wrapped in a creamy sandalwood and a more powerful musk.

Beyond its intoxicating scent, L'Air du Temps à Paris chez Antoinette Poisson will also win you over with its innovative bottle, which nonetheless celebrates French tradition. To design this bottle, Nina Ricci chose to work with the house A Paris chez Antoinette Poisson. Founded in 2012, it revives a forgotten craft dating back to the 18th century: domino paper decoration. At the time, decorative papers were printed using engraved wood blocks. Once the paper was printed, it was embellished by hand or with a stencil, and this is how color was added. For this edition, the house A Paris chez Antoinette Poisson chose to decorate the Nina Ricci bottle with a toile de Jouy-style pattern, depicting doves and flowers. Naturally, this is a nod to the original bottle of L'Air du Temps. Its bucolic patterns are also rendered in a yellow gold color.
