Where to buy

Once these conditions are met, a divine and mysterious fragrance is born, coming from an imaginary and futuristic world where woman is a powerful, solar deity. Alien reveals a surprising and enchanting olfactory world.

Alien, or the creation of a mysterious and solar world

Every Thierry Mugler fragrance carries the wearer into a wonderful world, sparking dreams and awakening the senses. Alien, this fragrance from elsewhere, created a surprise as soon as it launched in 2005. The Mugler visuals know how to enchant women.

Do you believe in the extraordinary? was the slogan of the first campaign for Alien in 2005. Alien was presented there as a precious talisman, the creation of a mysterious and magnificent solar goddess who appeared in perfumeries and on screens in the features of the model Tina Baltzer, then Felicity Gilbert.

The world of the magnificent Alien talisman unfolds gradually through visuals and campaigns, always built around a virtual community, as was the case at the start of Angel. A lively and significant community, for which Mugler invents and creates secondary worlds. For example, at the launch of Alien Eau Extraordinaire, Mugler created Alien Experience, a mystical and creative universe that internet users discovered through play.

Alien, or the perfect accords of floral, amber and woody notes

Radiant, mysterious, reassuring, the fragrance multiplies its revelations, and the strange, solar world is offered to us through its magnificent bottle. Cut like a magical gemstone, the Alien bottle is shaped like an amethyst held as though it were the key to a new universe, clasped in gold claws. The bottle offers prisms and facets, and the fragrance offers many of its own as well.

Alien was built around three major revelations, or fragrances: the woody facet with cashmeran wood, the floral facet built around luminous, honeyed sambac jasmine accords, and white amber. The fragrance thus opens on tonic, tangy top notes of mandarin, giving way to a delicate, sweet-floral heart of sambac jasmine gracefully paired with orange blossom notes. Then the deep, spellbinding sillage of the fragrance reveals the exotic, refined magic of powerful cashmeran, paired with amber and amber woods, and lifted by a gourmand touch of vanilla.

Alien is therefore an entirely original and complex fragrance based on relatively simple yet highly original accords. The scented composition of this multifaceted talisman has, since its launch, never ceased to captivate women in search of an original and mysterious, sensual and distinctive fragrance.

The advertising

Released in 2005, Alien was immediately regarded as an unidentified object of desire. After having revolutionized the world of perfumery with Angel, Thierry Mugler returned with an extraordinary fragrance, Alien. This fragrance is an essence that is at once floral, radiant and ultra-luminous. With its amethyst gemstone, Alien is a coveted, idealized object. Built around three accords, floral, woody and amber, Alien is a fragrance of mystery that envelops the wearer in a very particular, almost mythical aura.

Alien, advertising films carrying a solar energy

In this first, slightly supernatural film, the colors of gold and sun dominate. Here, everything is illumination and beauty, flying glitter, light, and above all a bottle that gradually reconstitutes itself. The beauty of the fragrance is also revealed gradually. In the 2015 film, Thierry Mugler offers a short film delivering not only a message of solar energy, but also a message of emotion and happiness. Set to the music of Brennisteinn by the Icelandic rock band Sigur Ros, the Moldovan model Alexandrina Turcan awakens into the light and comes to life, little by little. The setting is pharaonic, and the beauty holds the precious amethyst bottle in her hand.

Alexandrina Turcan, one of the most beautiful Moldovan models

In order to represent this mystical and mysterious woman, Thierry Mugler called upon a Moldovan beauty. Born in 1993, Alexandrina Turcan was scouted at the age of 15 by a Romanian agency. She signed a contract with the Béatrice Models agency (Milan), before signing another with the Major Model Management agency (New York). After appearing on the cover of numerous magazines (Elle, Vogue), Alexandrina Turcan settled in Paris. She first represented the brand Garnier before becoming the face of the campaign for Thierry Mugler. In this film, she perfectly embodies the luminous goddess made of gold and life.

After Angel in 1993, Thierry Mugler drew attention once again. Alien is a fragrance from another time, at once floral and mysterious. Its first advertising film highlights the light radiating from the fragrance as well as the beauty of the bottle. Its second advertising film features a magnificent, radiant and ultra-luminous goddess who awakens through the rays of the sun. A dazzling ambassador, true to the composition of Alien.

Alien is a fragrance that needs no introduction. It is regarded as a great classic of feminine perfumery, created in 2005 by the designer Thierry Mugler, following the launch of the best-seller Angel. More than a fragrance, it is a kind of talisman. It offers a solar vision of woman, making her a sort of modern and radiant deity. Alien is nonetheless as enigmatic as it is benevolent. It seems endowed with an almost magical power: that of revealing the natural radiance of every woman. In its sillage, it carries a message of hope, serenity and light. Its imagery becomes as spellbinding as its scented breath. Focus on the advertising for Alien by Thierry Mugler.

Thierry Mugler takes us into the desert with its advertising

The advertisement for Alien is called Extraordinary Gardens. Yet it does not take us into a lush garden but rather into the heart of a desert. The advertisement begins with a long, dark corridor that could be mistaken for the interior of a pyramid. In reality, it is the interior of the Alien bottle, depicted here as an imposing, sculptural monument. It projects its scented effluvia and carries us into an almost lunar landscape: that of a desert. Thousands of drops of this almost magical fragrance are scattered over the white sand. On contact with the ground, they suddenly transform the landscape and give rise to a multitude of small violet flowers. The spirit of this advertisement is particularly poetic and almost dreamlike. Yet this visual is directly inspired by a very real phenomenon occurring not far from San Diego, California. Indeed, every year, for a few weeks, an explosion of colors spreads across the Anza-Borrego desert. This splendid phenomenon, of which only nature holds the secret, attracts thousands of tourists every year. Whether Thierry Mugler stayed there during a recent vacation remains to be seen. Regardless, it must be acknowledged that this natural spectacle pairs wonderfully with the sumptuous bottle of the Alien fragrance.

The Alien bottle at the center of everything

Indeed, the famous Alien bottle is truly the center of this advertisement. The violet flowers seem to open and spread across entire dunes to celebrate the arrival of their deity. Alien gradually appears like a messiah and reconstitutes itself before our eyes. An assemblage of amethyst gradually forms this sculptural bottle. Indeed, the Alien container appears cut like a precious stone. It is a true jewel with irregular yet symmetrical facets that make it a genuine work of art. Its brown color carries an unprecedented sensuality. Four gold claws rise to protect its precious fragrance. Alien finally rises toward the sky in a solar halo. The spectacle is one of great beauty. The visual for this advertisement is signed by the Parisian studio Les Monstres.
