Where to buy

To pay tribute to it, the Cartier house decided to create a new collection. Named Rivières, it is composed of three fragrances, including Rivières Allégresse. Let us look in more detail at what its lovely sun-kissed bottle conceals...

The Rivières Allégresse collection, an awakening to nature

The Rivières Allégresse collection by Cartier owes its existence to perfumer Mathilde Laurent. Through this assemblage of three fragrances, she sought to depict three different river landscapes, each scent infused with the smell of all the natural elements encountered.

Furthermore, the three Rivières de Cartier share the trait of evoking a bright, fresh nature. The creator says she had the word sparkling in mind when creating this range of unisex fragrances. The result is a joyful, impertinent sensation, rarely permitted in perfumery. We wanted to evoke a new freshness, and the word Rivières emerged as the obvious choice, the creator recounts. It sits at the crossroads of nature and jewelry, since one speaks of rivières of diamonds, which makes it possible to draw a link with perfumery, with the idea of fresh waters.

With Rivières Allégresse de Cartier, everything is liveliness and spontaneity. The result is an immediate sensation of cleanliness. Undeniably, a genuine feeling of joie de vivre emerges from this fragrance.

The joyful brilliance of Rivières Allégresse

An infinitely luminous fragrance, Rivières Allégresse de Cartier comes in a sun-kissed bottle with a flamboyant yellow brilliance. Refillable, this glass case is also lighter than the house's other bottles, with the aim of reducing its carbon footprint. More environmentally friendly, it is also presented in a cardboard box whose raw material, wood, comes from sustainably managed forests. Presented in a single size of 100 ml, this bottle is topped with a cap sculpted like a diamond. From then on, one cannot wait to lift this jewel to become intoxicated by its scent.

Rivières Allégresse de Cartier blends bergamot, petitgrain, blackcurrant bud and tuberose. It is a fragrance dusted with fresh, radiant notes. In this creation, the Cartier house wanted to evoke the image of a gentle, serene river, bathed in floral vegetation. Despite its yellow bottle, Rivières Allégresse de Cartier remains a very green fragrance, whose green facet is greatly amplified by the presence of delicate tuberose. Contrary to what this bottle might suggest, Rivières Allégresse de Cartier is likely the greenest and lightest of the three fragrances presented by the house. It ripples joyfully on skin and leaves behind a clean, aldehydic feeling of foliage.

Olfastory’s review

Initially, Cartier specialized exclusively in the world of jewelry. Then, little by little, Cartier chose to broaden its expertise and also make a place for itself in the world of perfumery. Nevertheless, from jewelry to perfume, there is often but a single step. At Cartier, these two worlds intersect very often and give rise to sumptuous, sparkling fragrances. Inspired by nature, the new Rivières de Cartier collection embodies this marriage of expertise beautifully. Here is our review of the small yellow bottle from this trio: Rivières Allégresse de Cartier.
