Launched in 2024, L’Interdit Absolu extends Givenchy’s L’Interdit collection, born in 1957 as a tribute to Audrey Hepburn. The house presents it as a more intense, darker version of the original white flower, unsettled by a Tobacco absolute, in a sculptural black bottle made at the Ateliers Givenchy in France.

Heart
The heart brings together neroli essence from Egypt, a quartet of orange blossom, a tuberose absolute from India and a sambac jasmine absolute, the white bouquet Givenchy holds as the signature of L’Interdit.
Base
A Tobacco absolute from Bulgaria darkens the base, alongside patchouli essential oil and vetiver essential oil from Haiti. It is this tobacco that the house highlights to distinguish the Absolu from the rest of the collection.
What the label declares
The ingredients list places methyl anthranilate in fourth position: this orange blossom material, with a grape fruity facet, carries the announced neroli and orange blossom. Coumarin, almond and hay, extends the tobacco; eugenol, clove, and alpha-isomethyl ionone, powdery, round out the warm register.
Linalool, limonene, geraniol, citronellol and citral are the declared allergens from the florals and the lavender. Three colorants, Red 4, Yellow 5 and Blue 1, tint the juice. No material specific to tobacco is required to appear on this list.
What is left out
The house cites neither rum nor cistus; the notes retained here hold to its declaration.
