Libre is the eau de parfum that Yves Saint Laurent launched in August 2019, composed by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm. The house describes it as a floral lavender, poised between Moroccan orange blossom and a French lavender reinvented for women, over a base of Madagascar vanilla, ambergris, musk and cedar. Dua Lipa is its face.
The house describes three tiers: mandarin, lavender, blackcurrant and petitgrain in the top; jasmine, Moroccan orange blossom and lavender from the south of France in the heart; Madagascar vanilla, ambergris, musk and cedar in the base.
Lavender from end to end
Mandarin and lavender oils open the fragrance, lifted by blackcurrant and petitgrain with a fruity, green note. Lavender runs through the composition and reappears in the heart, alongside jasmine and orange blossom.
A base of vanilla and ambergris
Madagascar vanilla, ambergris, musk and cedar make up the base. They give orange blossom and lavender a warm foundation that extends the tension between the two flowers.
