L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower
In perfumery as in life, there are stories one never tires of rediscovering. Such is the case of L'Eau d'Issey, the first fragrance by designer Issey Miyake, born in 1992. With wit and modesty, he said at the time of its release, I only walk half the way.

Where to buy
The woman who wears one of my garments or my perfume walks the other half of the journey. I bring it into being, she brings it to life. An essential communion. Over time, women and L'Eau d'Issey came to know each other better, creating a unique bond. Once again, L'Eau d'Issey reveals a new facet of its personality. In the summer of 2019, Issey Miyake presents the new Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower.
L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower, an exotic journey
L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower is a summer limited edition that offers an early journey. But where did Issey Miyake decide to set down his bags this time? It seems that Japan was the inspiration for the designer this time. L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower evokes the memory of the island of Zamami, a land located in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, bathed by sea waters while covered with countless flowers. It is precisely this alliance of lightness and femininity that is found in L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower.
L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower, a very floral moment
To translate this memory into an olfactory form, Issey Miyake called on the talented perfumer Aurélien Guichard. Born in Grasse, he comes from a great family of perfumers and was introduced to this world at a very early age. After collaborating for a long time alongside Narciso Rodriguez, he offers here a distillation of all his talent. He chose to create in L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower a fruity and floral fragrance, gourmand in character without tipping into an overload of sweetness. L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower opens first on a vivid scent of lemon and blackcurrant. This tangy start is paired with one of the most celebrated flowers in women's perfumery: the rose. The heart of L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower, in turn, combines hibiscus, raspberry flower and freesia. Here again, romance and softness become one. All the poetry of the Japanese landscape seems to resurface from this composition. Finally, sandalwood wraps the whole in creaminess, while white musk lets a cloud of purity float through.
Issey Miyake chooses a flamboyant red bottle
L'Eau d'Issey Pure Shade of Flower keeps the same bottle as its predecessors. However, it now comes in a lovely red hue. Evoking femininity and summer flowers, the red is paired here with a sun-kissed, energizing yellow. Finally, a flower also appears on the cardboard box of this new fragrance. This new visual is signed by Mai Hua, a well-known colorist widely followed on social media.
