L’Eau d’Issey Pure, clear as water

L’Eau d’Issey Pure is like an interpretation of ceaselessly flowing water. At times calm, at times wild, like a torrent that carries us ever further and faster. While this version of L’Eau d’Issey Pure does not contain citrus, it nonetheless possesses marine effluvia as well as a very carnal facet. L’Eau d’Issey Pure opens on a marine accord that offers very pure and very fresh fragrances. One can easily picture the sea spray and feel the force of the winds. This sensation is reinforced by the presence of ambergris. Indeed, the latter is an ingredient of animal origin whose scent is shaped by air, sun and sea. Ambergris here delivers sensual and spicy effluvia. The presence of lily, a very feminine white flower, brings a suave touch while orange blossom offers very luminous scents. As for Damanesca rose, it brings the romanticism of a rose along with its fruity and lemony facets. Jasmine brings an opulent and rich aspect. It combines wonderfully with the very seductive depth of Cashmeran.

As the story goes, the bottle of the first Eau d’Issey was inspired while Issey Miyake was looking at the Eiffel Tower. The moon shone at the top of the beautiful steel tower. He then invented the bottle that we know, conical, topped with a crystalline ball. Although this emblematic ball has disappeared, the bottle of L’Eau d’Issey Pure still has a very slender silhouette, as if reaching toward the sky. The base of the bottle is more rounded, more feminine. The whole is crowned by a brushed metal cap that signs the modernity of the ensemble. It also demonstrates Issey Miyake’s love of contrasts, as it very skillfully plays here on the contrast between steel and glass… A majestic bottle.
