Three perfumers at the heart of La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense
It was Anne Flipo, Dominique Ropion and Pierre Wargnye who created “La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense”. Anne Flipo is one of the most creative and talented perfumers of her time. She currently works at IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) and is responsible for magnificent compositions such as “La Vie est Belle” by Lancôme, “Sweet” by Lolita Lempicka, and “Olympéa” by Paco Rabanne. Dominique Ropion came into contact with the world of scent very early on, as his mother and grandfather worked at Roure. He has a perfect knowledge of all raw materials. Dominique Ropion is responsible for astonishing fragrances such as “Pure Poison” by Christian Dior and “Trésor in Love” by Lancôme. Pierre Wargnye also works at IFF. He is considered a safe pair of hands and possesses incredible expertise. Pierre Wargnye is responsible for fine fragrances such as “Only the Brave” by Diesel and “Drakkar Noir” by Guy Laroche.
The sensuality of the notes of La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense
“La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense” displays a degree of sensuality rarely achieved. Powerful and seductive to the highest degree, its composition has oriental, floral and woody facets. “La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense” opens with one of the noblest ingredients in perfumery, iris, paired with violet, which reinforces its powdery aspect. Violet is a very pretty little flower known since antiquity around the Mediterranean. In 1854, violet was cultivated throughout the city of Toulouse, which brought the city renown. In perfumery, violet is reproduced synthetically in identical form and offers tonalities that are at once floral, fruity, powdery and green. Finally, the heart of “La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense” plays on an ultra sensual vanilla-tonka bean accord. Tonka bean, or “coumarou”, is native to the Amazon. Its pink-violet clustered flowers are highly fragrant. The pod-shaped fruits contain the seeds, the tonka bean. In perfumery, tonka bean gives off scents that are tobacco-like, coumarinic, almond-like and balsamic. Finally, the base of “La Nuit de l'Homme l'Intense” is composed of patchouli, amber woods and coumarin. The bottle takes up the main codes of its predecessors, tinted for the occasion with a particularly intense brown gradient, echoing the composition itself.
