Distinctive, Jungle opens new perfumed and dreamlike perspectives by proposing a half-manga, half-fantastical world at the cutting edge of image technology. Jungle, like its advertisement with its thousand golden elephants, truly did not go unnoticed!

Kenzo, the magic of transformation and the cyber environment for Jungle

After the departure of the house's founding father Kenzo Takada and a slight waning of the house's offbeat, Japanese-inflected fashion in the 1990s, Kenzo reinvented itself by continuing to offer a highly poetic world, but modernizing it with a few magical images and other transformations. The house's concept was then meant to be more focused on magic, on transformation, and the beautiful Jungle fragrance would be one of the pillars of this transformation.
Jungle is not carried by any ambassador, aside from a beautiful Asian woman with the look of a manga heroine or a fantastical tale. As for Jungle's advertisement, it employs all the best virtual imaging techniques to offer a phantasmagorical jungle environment where golden elephants run around the young Jungle woman. From there to seeing a gentle allegory of our modern urban world, our urban jungle, it is but a small step... one that would indeed be taken later with the urban and offbeat environment of Flower by Kenzo in 2000.

Jungle, a spicy floral of character, by Kenzo

The beautiful Jungle elephant spared absolutely no detail in asserting its difference; its square, opulent bottle is proof of that. Moreover, the sculpture of the elephant as a cabochon affirms the undeniable presence of this overpowering juice signed by the great Dominique Ropion.

For Kenzo, the king of the jungle is not the lion, but indeed the elephant. Head turned to the sky, it carries its fine omen through a dreamed-of nature, Kenzo states about Jungle.
From the very opening of this beautiful spicy scent from another land, mandarin seizes the wearer with its tonic, tangy freshness. Then the heart of the fragrance takes the wearer straight into the heart of Jungle—pardon, the jungle—intoxicating with powerful spices of cardamom, clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. The floral notes of ylang-ylang and heliotrope, punctuated by a syrupy plum and a juicy mango, add delightfully to this blend of explosive spices. Rosewood plays on its blond, floral facets to complete this depiction of a lush olfactory landscape. Depths of patchouli and vanilla, heightened with a touch of licorice, plunge the Jungle woman into a bath of exotic, vegetal sensuality.

Often compared to the great fragrances that marked the 1980s, such as Poison or Opium, for its obvious charisma and its fully embraced opulence, the beautiful Jungle managed to win women's hearts by offering them a new fragrance playing between flower and spice, all the better to surprise them. Jungle offers those who wish it the pleasure of a journey to the heart of an imaginary world, a lush and whimsical nature, saturated with colors, vibrating to the rhythm of a warm, spicy light, Kenzo states about Jungle.

Olfastory’s review

The house of Kenzo has always had an atypical vision of fashion and perfumery. Doing nothing like everyone else, it takes an often exotic and highly poetic view of the world of women's fragrances. It is precisely in this register that Kenzo Jungle finds its place. Since 1996, it has honored the elephant, placing it as the king of the jungle. Released in several versions over the years, this essence is a concentrate of warmth and comfort. Oriental and spicy, it does not lack temperament and is well suited to warming up cold winter days. So, what about this timeless fragrance that has enriched the world of women's scents since the mid-1990s? Here is our review on the subject.
