Reinterpreted time and again, it has already become L'Homme Libre, L'Homme Parfum Intense, L'Homme Sport, L'Homme Ultime, and L'Homme Cologne Bleue, to name only a few. Yet the story does not end there, and Yves Saint-Laurent has already announced the name of its new version for the year 2020. This time, its emblematic juice becomes L'Homme Le Parfum, in a rendering that is both modern and highly contrasted.
L'Homme Le Parfum reinvents the woody DNA of its predecessors
L'Homme Le Parfum by Yves Saint-Laurent is a fragrance that is not diametrically opposed to its predecessors. In fact, it even picks up the main thread of the juices created before it: a woody, intensely virile scent. This time, however, the masculinity of L'Homme Le Parfum is more nuanced and contrasted. Wood is explored in all its facets, revealing its finest nuances and the multiple layers of its personality. Cedar dominates. It first delivers its dry, powerful odor, a guarantee of strong and clearly asserted masculinity. Then, gradually, it becomes softer and more sensual through contact with amber. L'Homme Le Parfum moves between strength and warmth. This fragrance is conceived as the scent of warm skin under an impeccable suit.
These contrasts also resurface upon seeing the bottle. Its glass base retains a certain transparency, while its cap is completely opaque. Covered in a gray lacquer, it faces electrifying bluish walls. The bottle of L'Homme Le Parfum rests on a round, cylindrical base, while its top is far more raw and hexagonal. Both olfactorily and visually, the contrasts seem made to draw toward one another and form a single whole, in perfect harmony.
Who is the man wearing the new fragrance from Yves Saint-Laurent?
Once again, to embody its fragrance on screen, Yves Saint-Laurent chose the New Zealand model Vinnie Woolston, already the face of the La Nuit de L'Homme collection. Mysterious and seductive, he perfectly embodies the image of this fragrance. Indeed, the man who wears L'Homme Le Parfum shines through his natural elegance, while remaining a touch rebellious. He knows how to be sophisticated without hiding his strong character. L'Homme Le Parfum celebrates the man of two faces: from nonchalant charm to electrifying seduction, from the refined dandy to the urban bad boy. With him, everything is a matter of duality. L'Homme Le Parfum explores every facet of masculine personality. His unique identity takes shape in his raw strength marked by elegance. His virility is singular, his charisma natural. He plays with contrasts warmly without seeking to mask his sensitivity.

The advertising
L'Homme by Yves Saint-Laurent is a fragrance born in 2006. Very early on, it appeared to everyone as an infinitely elegant and refined juice. Since then, it has reinvented itself, revealing different facets of masculine personality. All these essences, however, share an innate charisma, paired with genuine sophistication. Once again, all these elements are found in its 2020 version. However, L'Homme Le Parfum appears as the most woody concentration among them. Composed by three perfumers, L'Homme Le Parfum brings together cedar, vetiver, cashmere wood and ambroxan. It comes in the collection's usual bottle, tinted a dark blue, resembling diluted ink. As for advertising, once again, Vinnie Woolston becomes its face.
Vinnie Woolston, famous figure of the L'Homme collection by Yves Saint-Laurent
After Vincent Cassel and Garrett Hedlund, previous male faces of L'Homme by Yves Saint-Laurent, it was Vinnie Woolston's turn to lend his image to this fragrance. The story between the house and this handsome New Zealand surfer has, in fact, already lasted several years. A touch rock 'n' roll, he knows how to appear free while remaining elegant and chic. It is precisely this image that emanates from this fragrance collection. Spotted by a modeling agency while working in a surf shop, Vinnie Woolston has never stopped generating conversation. Very discreet about his private life, he seduces women around the world with his mysterious, dark beauty. In the previous advertisement for L'Homme by Yves Saint-Laurent, he played a musician leaving a concert hall. Once again, for the campaign of L'Homme Le Parfum, the musician theme returns. However, the setting changes.
L'Homme Le Parfum, the game of cat and mouse
The advertisement for L'Homme Le Parfum plays out to the languorous sound of New Moon Walker by Blow. It was photographed by Billy Kidd and filmed by Colin Tilley, and unfolds entirely in black and white. Here, everything begins with the sight of a man, Vinnie Woolston, leaving a contemporary building to reach his car. Rich and famous, Vinnie Woolston does not drive but has his own chauffeur. The chauffeur takes him to a guitar shop, where the face of L'Homme Le Parfum tests a splendid Les Paul, one of the most iconic electric guitars in rock. Throughout this journey, a young Asian woman follows him. As he leaves the shop, letting his pick slip away, she never takes her eyes off him. She eventually catches up with him in a bar with a vintage atmosphere, as he listens to a few tracks on a traditional jukebox. Once again, Vinnie Woolston slips away. The young woman thinks she will find him in the back of his car. All she discovers there is his bottle of fragrance. That is enough for her. After all, was that not what she was looking for? The advertisement ends on the famous Yves Saint-Laurent logo, followed by the bottle of L'Homme Le Parfum, the only element of the campaign to be filmed in color.
