Alessandro Michele is a designer who was appointed creative director of the Italian house Gucci in 2015. Since then, he has brought a profound singularity to the house. With him, women are different and authentic. To accompany them in their emancipation, Alessandro Michele also created a fragrance, in 2017: Gucci Bloom. Reinvented on several occasions, it is still making headlines in 2022 with a new concentrate of light. It becomes Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette.
When he created the fragrance Gucci Bloom in 2017, the designer Alessandro Michele added: I wanted a very rich white floral fragrance, a bold fragrance that carries one away to an immense garden bursting with flowers and plants, a bouquet of abundance. This wild garden, overflowing with color, reflects the beauty of women in their diversity. Everything can be found there. Gucci Bloom is the fragrance of this garden. It carries one away to somewhere else. Logically, the composition of its successor, Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette, remains very floral. This new abstract garden shines even brighter and takes on a new radiance. A breakdown of its composition follows.
Unchanged top and heart notes
The first version of Gucci Bloom was created in 2017 by the talented Alberto Morillas. A self-taught Spaniard, he has retained from his childhood the memory of typically Mediterranean scents. Avant-garde and highly creative, he often enjoys imagining a fragrance as an imaginary garden. This is how he created Gucci Bloom. In 2022, Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette preserves this original philosophy. Thus, although refreshed and brighter, its composition remains largely identical to that of its predecessor. As proof: its top notes and heart remain unchanged.
The white floral scent of Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette
So which raw materials exactly have been preserved in the top notes and heart notes of Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette? There are three of them.
The first of these, tuberose, gives off a very feminine scent. Endowed with a multitude of nuances, it is at once sun-kissed and orangey, while releasing a honeyed and almondy side. Sometimes rounded, it can also reveal another, more vegetal and camphoraceous, facet. The second fragrant note is jasmine. Widely used in feminine perfumery, it is also glamorous and sun-kissed. Often fruity, it can also appear more animalic. This trio is then completed by Rangoon creeper. This element, very rarely used in fragrance compositions, adds a more tropical and exotic facet to the fragrance.
Neroli, the new ingredient in Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette
To lighten its fragrance formula and make it a more summery, sun-kissed product, Gucci relies on a new ingredient, incorporated into the base notes of Gucci Bloom Eau de Toilette: neroli. This element is obtained from the distillation of orange blossom. In contrast to orange blossom absolute, which is obtained through extraction, neroli reveals a richer, more floral breath. Zesty yet also suave, it only heightens the femininity of this composition. The result is an authentic and luminous fragrance, ideally designed to reveal the singularity of women.
