Miss Dior Eau de Toilette Originale is the light version of Christian Dior’s first perfume, the 1947 green floral chypre signed by Paul Vacher and Jean Carles. Renamed Originale in 2011, it keeps the three materials the house highlights, galbanum, jasmine and patchouli essence, and is sold in a 100 ml bottle.
Elena Vosnaki found the pre-2011 eau de toilette more powdery and greener than the extrait, and considers today’s Originale respectable for what it is.

In her November 2007 piece, Elena Vosnaki draws a clear line between concentrations: the eau de toilette seems to her more powdery and more bitter, lively and green from the start, and she likens it to Carven’s Ma Griffe. Batches from that period already seem softened at the top to her, galbanum giving way to a citrus-leaf note.
Asked by a reader in 2014 about the Originale, she judges it fairly successful: an eau de toilette could never match the extrait, she says, but this one remains lovely for what it is and is worth buying, at least for now.
