Bleu de CHANEL Parfum
Bleu de Chanel Parfum, launched in June 2018, is the third concentration in Chanel’s men’s line, after the 2010 eau de toilette and the 2014 eau de parfum. Olivier Polge keeps the outline of Bleu and gives more room to the woods: lemon zest, lavender and geranium rest on cedar and New Caledonian sandalwood.

Chanel launches Bleu de Chanel Parfum in June 2018, eight years after the eau de toilette that opened the line and four years after the eau de parfum. The house presents it as Bleu in its purest, most concentrated form, an aromatic woody fragrance for men.
A Bleu signed by Olivier Polge
The 2010 eau de toilette was the work of Jacques Polge, then Chanel’s perfumer-creator. The Parfum is the first version of Bleu signed by Olivier Polge, the house’s perfumer-creator: he keeps the structure and rebalances the formula in favor of the woods, for an energy Chanel wants to be more forthright.
What the house says about it
Chanel now describes an intensely woody aromatic: a fresh opening, extended by a precious woody accord built around New Caledonian sandalwood, deep and generous. The house sees in it the scent of a determined, intensely masculine man who rejects uniformity and breaks free from every code.

Gaspard Ulliel, by Steve McQueen
Chanel launches the Parfum with a Steve McQueen film shot in Bangkok, in which Gaspard Ulliel plays the Bleu man for the third time, to Bowie’s Starman.
For the June 2018 launch, Chanel entrusts the film to Steve McQueen, director of Twelve Years a Slave. Gaspard Ulliel, the face of Bleu since 2010, plays the Bleu man for the third time, after the films by Martin Scorsese and James Gray.
Shot in Bangkok, the film shows a matured, more serene man in search of inner peace, in the line’s midnight-blue light; an evening swim takes center stage, to David Bowie’s Starman.
Gaspard Ulliel said the closing message, “it’s right in front of you,” summed up the story of the new Bleu man, the opposite of the first film. After his death, the line changed faces: Timothée Chalamet has embodied it since.
