Where to buy

A man endowed with an innate charisma, sure of himself and unafraid to express his personality through the fragrance he wears. The tone was set, and so here is what The One For Men, this sublime fragrance, is all about.

The Dolce & Gabbana man

As one will have understood, the man who wears The One For Men must possess a strong personality and a determined character to be able to carry off such a bold fragrance. Nevertheless, The One For Men also remains a very elegant and sensual scent. In other words, it is conceived like a celebrity. It is at once refined and capable of drawing every gaze with a single passage. This is probably why The One For Men very quickly became a modern icon of masculinity. It is a thoroughly assertive fragrance, leaving in its sillage a charismatic and highly seductive imprint. Yet beneath its apparent modernity, it is also conceived as an eternal classic. This timeless creation proves particularly sophisticated, containing all the expertise of the house Dolce & Gabbana.

The woody and oriental fragrance of The One For Men

The One For Men was created by the perfumer Olivier Polge. He is now considered one of the most celebrated creators in the world. He currently holds the position of official perfumer for the house Chanel, succeeding his father Jacques Polge. Nevertheless, he was working for International Flavors & Fragrances when he created The One For Men. Recognized by his peers for his professionalism and his innate sense of creativity, he here let his own virility fully express itself. His fragrance is entirely built around a modernized classic woody accord. In this instance, The One For Men opens with the fresh and bitter combination of grapefruit with a more aromatic facet of coriander and basil. Thus, its opening sparkles with freshness. Then, the whole becomes more impertinent. The One For Men develops a scent of suave orange blossom paired with spicy notes of cardamom and ginger, an ingredient recognized for its aphrodisiac effect. This then opens the path of seduction for The One For Men. It concludes with a more woody harmony. Its sillage combines cedarwood, sandalwood and tobacco. The whole then reaches its fullness on a syrupy amber base enhanced by the sensuality of musk. The One For Men is then presented in a very architectural and masculine bottle. It comes in a heavy glass block, with clean and geometric lines, revealing the color of its amber juice in a true expression of contemporary luxury.

The advertising

The One For Men by Dolce & Gabbana was born in 2008 and is the perfect embodiment of the Italian brand's style, at once elegant and sensual, resolutely modern while displaying undeniable charisma. Since then, it has delighted men across the globe and stands as one of the best-sellers of Dolce & Gabbana. Conquering the world with its oriental, spicy and refined breath, The One For Men never stops making headlines. Moreover, it also builds its renown on high-flying advertising campaigns. This is how Dolce & Gabbana set its sights on Kit Harington to make him its face of the campaign.

Kit Harington, face of the campaign for The One For Men by Dolce & Gabbana

For those who do not know him, Kit Harington is a British actor and producer best known for his role as Jon Snow in the famous series Game of Thrones. Possessing great qualities as a leader of men, Kit Harington is a central character in this cult saga, able to boast of having won the hearts of women around the world. Recently, he also took on the role of Vincent in Silent Hill, before appearing in the blockbuster Pompeii directed by Paul W.S. Anderson. As one will have understood, Kit Harington favors muscular roles, in which mastery of the sword is a must. Yet this time it is in a completely different register that he appears for The One For Men perfume.

An ode to the Dolce Vita

In the advertisement for The One For Men by Dolce & Gabbana, Kit Harington set aside his animal skins and conqueror's spirit to indulge in the Dolce Vita and enjoy some leisure time. Here, gone is the Seven Kingdoms or the Iron Throne; he strolls with a smile through an Italian market, dancing with the children as well as with the Italian mamas. There is no doubt: the Neapolitans recognize him, but greet him simply. The atmosphere is especially festive. Very authentic, this clip would almost make one want to dance in front of the screen. It is time to celebrate! Very realistic, the advertisement for The One For Men by Dolce & Gabbana features only genuine residents of Naples as extras.

The other protagonists of the campaign for The One For Men

To produce this advertising campaign, the house Dolce & Gabbana called on the talented Italian director Matteo Garrone. The advertisement unfolds to the sunny rhythm of the title Tu vuò fa' l'americano, a famous jazzy hit from the 1960s by Renato Carosone. It should also be noted that the other Dolce & Gabbana advertisement, for the women's fragrance The One, features Emilia Clarke, another iconic figure from Game of Thrones. The house nevertheless chose to create two different clips. Both are separate, but unfold within the same Italian atmosphere.
