While some grand returns announced with great fanfare turn out to be illusory or artificial, that of Courrèges and its legendary perfumes does not seem to be one of them. Yet the rebirth of the celebrated haute couture and perfume house had been long awaited, since Courrèges had indeed experienced great difficulties for several years, despite its timeless signature and inimitable style.

Fortunately, the arrival of two enthusiasts of the symbolic 1960s label brought Moon Girl back from its ashes. Blanc de Courrèges, accompanied by the legendary Empreinte and Eau de Courrèges, will thus mark the 2012 fragrance year by offering the two fragrances that have become cult classics, revisited for the occasion, along with the magnificent breath of freshness of this Blanc, described as divinely creative.

Blanc de Courrèges thus follows the original line intended by its creator by offering captivating and original new scents. Moreover, the aptly named Blanc refers to one of the colors that most marked Courrèges's haute couture collections, notably through an entirely white collection from 1965. André Courrèges said of this immaculate collection that, like Le Corbusier who let light into houses, he could bring light into his clothes.

How could one imagine this Blanc de Courrèges wearing any bottle other than the one that carried Empreinte or, more recently, Eau de Courrèges? Rightfully so, the bottle of Blanc de Courrèges is immaculate white and carries the pretty Bakelite bubble just as well as its predecessors!

Blanc de Courrèges opens with a spicy start of pink pepper from Réunion, enhanced by a delicately sweet and deliciously exotic lychee pulp. At the heart, slightly fruity Grasse rose and white flower play the floral stars, embalmed with the powder of an iris absolute. Finally, Blanc de Courrèges wraps us in a cocoon of immaculate white where white patchouli, white musks and white amber play with their warmth to create a soft and comforting sillage for this beautiful floral.

Blanc de Courrèges marks the return of the great values of the house of Courrèges by combining fragrant or aesthetic traditions with creative and fragrant innovation. Julie Massé, a young perfumer, signs here one of her first great successes and allows Courrèges to affirm once again that, despite the years gone by, the house has lost none of its supremacy in perfumery.
