Blanc de Courrèges, or the luminous flashes of the young perfumer Julie Massé
Just like Le Corbusier, André Courrèges wanted to let light into his clothes, and so it was quite naturally that white became one of the signature colors of the Courrèges collections. But the years passed, times changed, and the house's tremendous success dried up. Fortunately, two new owners of the house decided to relaunch the grand house of Courrèges, and in 2012 this launch would be marked both by the new edition of the label's three legendary perfumes (Empreinte, Bleu and Eau de Courrèges) and by the creation of a new fragrant composition, Blanc de Courrèges.
To do so, the house of Courrèges turned to a young perfumer, Julie Massé, who made sun-drenched raw materials her specialty for an ultra-luminous composition in Blanc de Courrèges. Grasse roses and white flowers illuminate this Blanc de Courrèges while giving it the necessary sophistication of iris in order to align it with the brand's three emblematic fragrances.

A swirl of iris and patchouli for an elegant and innovative Blanc de Courrèges
While Blanc de Courrèges presents itself as a perfume bursting with light and exotic flowers, it is nonetheless equipped with some of the most elegant raw materials there are, including the famous iris, which lends a chic and powdery backbone to the whole composition.
If she chose iris, one of the most expensive raw materials in perfumery, it was because she wanted a quality perfume, Julie Massé explains to Flair Flair about Blanc de Courrèges.
Blanc de Courrèges thus sets off from its very opening toward sweet and tangy heights of lychee, spiked with pink pepper from Réunion to add a further kick to the whole. Then at the heart, Moroccan iris absolute and Grasse rose absolute come to wrap the tonic opening in delicacy and softness, notably by pairing with a suave heliotrope. Finally, white musks, white patchouli, white amber and white… woods envelop these flowers and these sweet-aromatic heights in a sensual yet pure warmth, like a halo of light settling on the skin.
