Where to buy

Bonbon addresses women who are sure of themselves and fulfilled in their femininity as in their sexuality. Offering an apparent simplicity in their nudity and wearing the fragrance as their only garment, they cannot resist this sweet and gourmand gift that reveals itself under its emblematic name...

A sensual Bonbon ready to be opened and… laid bare?

Viktor & Rolf are renowned designers in the closed world of haute couture, where creations are often bold, original and a touch impertinent. Their fragrances, in the image of Flowerbomb and now Bonbon, must convey the same values of an uninhibited and fulfilled femininity while indulging in romanticism with beautiful flowers or regressive treats.

The advertising campaign built around Bonbon had to live up to the one that had made classic perfumers leap with Flowerbomb. The woman, the beautiful young model Edita Vilkeviciut, appears almost entirely nude. In the image of the carnal and sensual fragrance, she wears nothing but bows, no other adornment needed. As for the commercial, it shows the behind-the-scenes of the creative feat of bodypainting done over 8 hours on the model. And nothing else!

I wear the fragrance. It is like a tattoo. I love nudity. I think the body is really beautiful, but I have never done something like this before, I did not want to take it off.1 Edita Vilkeviciute, face of the campaign for Bonbon by Viktor & Rolf.

A fragrance between childhood flavors and the powerful scents of a fulfilled woman

Clearly, the pared-down yet daring communication of the two designers seeks to highlight an image of femininity that is fully fulfilled in a subdued sobriety, between regression and pleasure.

Yet the stylistic device of the bow, whether on the model or on the Bonbon bottle, is a prominent marker of the Viktor & Rolf signature. Delicate and beribboned, the bottle appears like a precious gift package ready to be discovered, just like the charming young woman in the advertisement... The link is simple, the Bonbon woman is a sensual, intoxicating woman, sweet like a treat one never tires of and cannot resist...

The originality of Bonbon lies of course in these top notes, already caramelized, blended with delicate notes of lemon and mandarin, which might lead one to believe in subtle freshness. No! Bonbon wants to surprise and stand out, offering heart notes of orange blossom, jasmine and peach to make one melt between fruity, floral and Mediterranean scents. As for the base notes, they appear, as is often the case in gourmand orientals, in traits of vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood. But that is not all! For the powerful sillage is also imbued with notes of warm milk, chocolate and caramel married to powdery heliotrope notes.

With Bonbon, Viktor & Rolf sign an extraordinary fragrance by favoring the originality of unprecedented gourmand notes. Highly addictive and very distinctive, the fragrance is striking and cannot leave one indifferent. Some adore it, others do not like it at all. Yet no one can deny this beautiful oriental, overdosed with sugars, the merit of Bonbon venturing into new olfactory paths...

The advertising

10 years after their best-seller Flowerbomb, Viktor & Rolf once again draw attention with an utterly original fragrance, Bonbon. At once ultra gourmand and very feminine, Bonbon draws one in irresistibly until one becomes completely addicted. With its sweet caramel scent, Bonbon perfectly embodies feminine indulgence. Bold, the composition is a cocktail of happiness and life. Viktor & Rolf pushed this boldness as far as the advertisement, presenting a nude ambassador, simply clad in a drawn-on candy.

Edita Vilkevicuite transforms into Bonbon for Viktor & Rolf

Everything about Viktor & Rolf's Bonbon was conceived and created like a treat, down to its ambassador. It was during the Paris Fashion Week show in 2014 that the Dutch duo presented the Bonbon advertisement... A fragrance that seduces through an auto-erotic experience does not go unnoticed! To perfectly represent this indulgence, Viktor & Rolf called on Edita Vilkevicuite. Born in 1989 in Lithuania, Edita Vilkevicuite signed her first modeling contract with a major Parisian agency at age 16. Edita Vilkevicuite walked her first show for Just Cavalli. Very quickly, her classic beauty and her dimples won over the greatest fashion designers. She has walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Valentino, Chanel and Chloé, and represents Chanel's famous fragrance N°19 Poudré. Professionals love her sensuality and the natural quality she exudes. Today, Edita Vilkevicuite is one of the essential models in the fashion world.

The Bonbon commercial is both gourmand and sensual

To represent the infinite indulgence of Bonbon, Viktor & Rolf decided to have their ambassador pose nude. Completely nude, Edita Vilkevicuite is painted with pink ribbons and bows identical to the one that forms the Bonbon bottle. Sitting cross-legged, nude, Edita Vilkevicuite has only her bottle, placed at her feet to protect her... It was the photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin who created the commercial. The visual impact here is truly significant, and the execution of the bows is a genuine technical feat. The highly couture pleated bow drawn on top of Edita Vilkevicuite marks a first in advertising films and inevitably catches the eye... Between indulgence and sensuality, the Bonbon commercial perfectly conveys the fragrance it embodies.

With Bonbon, Viktor & Rolf once again assert their boldness and their avant-garde side. If the fragrance is ultra gourmand, the advertisement is equally so. It showcases the Lithuanian top model Edita Vilkevicuite nude, with a candy drawn on her body.
