Un Jardin sur le Nil is the second of the Hermès Jardins, composed in 2005 by Jean-Claude Ellena after a trip to Aswan. The house describes it as a green and woody fragrance in which a tangy green mango, a delicate lotus and sycamore wood answer one another, along with incense and calamus. Its bottle, in glass shaded with green, evokes the banks of the Nile.

The bottle was designed by Fred Rawyler, inspired by the lines of the lanterns of horse-drawn carriages. Its glass is tinted with a green gradient that the house compares to the banks of the Nile; Chandler Burr also links this hue to the fragrance’s green mango.
The box bears a lotus in bloom painted by the artist Véronique de Mareuil. The eau de toilette is sold in 30, 50 and 100 ml, and a 200 ml refill can fill all three bottles again, which the house intends to be made to last.
