Voyage d'Hermès Parfum

Voyage d’Hermès Parfum is the version Jean-Claude Ellena composed in 2011 and Hermès launched in March 2012, two years after the Eau de Toilette. Woodier and more ambery than the original, it pairs juniper berry and cardamom with tea, milky sandalwood and musks. Its black glass bottle sits in a silver stirrup designed by Philippe Mouquet.

Hermès launched Voyage d’Hermès in 2010 as an Eau de Toilette signed by Jean-Claude Ellena, its in-house perfumer. In March 2012 the house introduced a version in Parfum concentration, which it says was created in 2011 and describes as an intense and generous reinterpretation of the original.

Jean-Claude Ellena explains that he moved away from the idea of concentrating the formula to work on the intensity of perceptions. He compares the effect to photography: an identical landscape, with a new depth of field. Hermès calls it warmer and more comfortable than the Eau de Toilette, less citrusy, woodier and more ambery.

The fragrance is meant for men and women alike, like Voyage d’Hermès Eau de Toilette, and comes in 35 and 100 ml bottles. The house presents it as a refillable object, made to last, in keeping with its saddle-making heritage.
