Where to buy
Nina was created in 2006 and appears as a sensual, playful and radiant woman. Luna, on the other hand, is more instinctive, mysterious and determined. Today, this little blue apple reinvents itself and delivers the latest limited edition from Nina Ricci. Les Monstres de Luna already promises to surprise with its extravagant bottle and to seduce with its scent, both gourmand and airy.
The highly nuanced composition of the Les Monstres de Luna fragrance
Les Monstres de Luna is a fragrance that retains Luna's gourmand character without indulging in an excess of sweetness or sentimentality. With it, everything is a matter of balance. The idea is to whet women's appetite while preserving the elegance dear to Nina Ricci. To achieve this olfactory feat, the house called on two talented perfumers: Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne. Together, they chose to open the composition of Les Monstres de Luna on a fresh and fruity blend of lime and pineapple. Thus, Les Monstres de Luna immediately draws us into a festive and exotic universe. Then, its heart grows more feminine. It resembles an enormous floral bouquet. The gourmand character finally appears in its base. A melting caramel envelops the whole, counterbalancing the initial freshness of this recipe. As one can tell, Les Monstres de Luna has nothing frightening about it. It is rather a dreamlike creature with very likeable accents.
Les Monstres de Luna dares an extravagant bottle
From then on, only a bottle was missing to complete this fragrance. Yet it must be acknowledged that this is the centerpiece of this reinterpretation. Luna's blue apple is still present but no longer appears as a fruit as such. Its round shape rather evokes the face of an owl or a cat. Enormous eyes made up with rhinestones and eyeliner have also been placed on its front face. A large turquoise pompom is attached at its neck. Its shade perfectly matches the rest of the bottle. This time it is a lovely gradient shifting from a sea green to a clearer blue. To craft this eccentric case, Nina Ricci called on particularly talented designers: Ana Strumpf and Guto Requena. Both come from Brazil. Guto Requena has a gift for weaving a very urban and contemporary culture into each of his creations. Ana Strumpf, for her part, is especially famous for her reinterpretations of magazine covers. Often finding them too dull, she does not hesitate to add numerous drawings and a strong dose of color. This is precisely the exercise she applied herself to for Nina Ricci. Moreover, this marks Ana Strumpf's second collaboration with the brand, as she had already designed the 2017 Nina and Luna Christmas set. Once again, her creativity seems limitless!
