Dare a more intense Interdit! Givenchy's L'Interdit has become, in just a few years, a true pillar of modern feminine perfumery. Created in 2018 by Givenchy, it has already been reinterpreted several times, first becoming an Eau de Toilette, before being declined into two other Couture editions.
L'Interdit by Givenchy is one of the most famous fragrances of the last century. Launched for the very first time in 1957, it was completely redesigned in 2018. Today, once again, it transforms into a new edition. In 2020, it becomes L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense. As its name suggests, it is now a much more powerful and sharp fragrance than before. So, what about its bottle? What elements are preserved from the previous bottles in the same collection? What new details have been added to L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense? A breakdown of its packaging!
A look back at the first bottle of L'Interdit by Givenchy
Before examining its new visual, and to better understand where this bottle comes from, let us go back in history, to the heart of the 1950s, and discover the very first bottle of L'Interdit by Givenchy. Initially, this fragrance was exclusively intended for Audrey Hepburn, muse and beloved of Hubert de Givenchy. He therefore decided to present his fragrance in a prestigious bottle, a token of all his sincerity and love for the actress. It was then a 157 g block of crystal, combining the rigor of a cube with the softness of more rounded, feminine curves. The whole was also topped with a heavy, refined cap, itself resting on a transparent ring.
2007, a year of change for the L'Interdit bottle
In 2007, Givenchy finally decided to reinvent its bottle, to make it less costly, more accessible and more modern. It was, moreover, on this date that the L'Interdit fragrance was relaunched to join Givenchy's Parfums Mythiques collection, after having been removed from the house's catalogs for several years. It came in a more slender bottle, with sharp angles and frosted glass. This visual then contrasted completely with the very first edition of L'Interdit.
L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense, a return to its roots tinted with black
This time, with L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense, Givenchy signs a return to its roots. Indeed, the house abandons sharp angles and returns to more softness. The curves are indeed present. The shape of L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense brings to mind a small inkwell. Moreover, it is essentially the same as that of the previous editions of L'Interdit from 2018 and 2019. The only difference: its new colorway. In 2020, Givenchy forgoes the pale pink and moves toward a darker, more shadowy black. This suggests all the intensity of this new fragrance. For added originality, note that this bottle is also lacquered on the inside, drawing inspiration from a small bottle similar to that of a nail polish. A silver plate bearing the Givenchy logo is also fixed to its neck. Its color is perfectly matched to that of this fragrance's name. Connected to the bottle by a small black ribbon, this plate only adds an extra touch of elegance to this visual. Finally, note that the L'Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense bottle exists in three different versions: 35, 50 and 85 ml.
