His “Mondrian” collection in 1965 was a genuine success. From the outset, the Parisian couturier loved to upend the codes of fashion and of freedom. He shocked audiences on numerous occasions, first by posing nude for one of his perfumes, but also with “Rive Gauche,” his first fragrance, and “Opium,” a sulfurous essence. In 2013, YSL presented “L’Homme Intense, le Parfum,” a flanker following the release of “L’Homme” in 2006.
L’Homme L’Intense according to Yves Saint Laurent
After having long devoted himself to glorifying women, YSL decided to put men in the spotlight. “L’Homme” was released in 2006, and reflects the contemporary man who lives with his time, his desires and his longings. Its fragrance is strong, sensual and charismatic. Today’s man is virile and elegant, and appeals endlessly to women. The success of “L’Homme” was immediate, and this fragrance is one of the house’s best sellers. In order to satisfy all its fans, YSL thus unveiled a flanker in 2013 with “L’Homme Intense,” a fragrance meant to be even warmer and more intense. The house of YSL describes it as a more powerful and more sophisticated olfactory interpretation than its predecessor, a promise of charisma at its peak. “L’Homme Parfum Intense” is aimed at men who embrace their virility.
L’Homme L’Intense, seductive, fresh and sensual notes signed YSL
It is to a duo of perfumers, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion, that the composition of “L’Homme Parfum Intense” is owed. They are also the ones who created that of “L’Homme.” “L’Homme Intense” is described as a woody and amber fragrance. It opens with the freshness of citrus, lemon and bergamot. This is paired with a floral tonality, that of davana, which also lends a syrupy facet. The spicy aspect of black pepper is then added. The heart is a very harmonious marriage between the powdery and green tonalities of violet flower and the luminosity of orange blossom. Finally, the base of “L’Homme Intense” offers a virile yet very sensual sillage, thanks to the presence of a suede and leather accord, along with benzoin and cedarwood. The bottle follows the codes of its elder. Made of glass and cylindrical in shape, it is this time dressed in a nectar of a brilliant amber color. Its hexagonal cap, meanwhile, is tinted with silver metal. The whole is one of extreme elegance.
A flanker of “L’Homme,” released in 2006, “L’Homme Parfum Intense” pushes the man’s charisma to its peak. While “L’Homme Intense” still describes the fragrance of a contemporary man, this one is nonetheless meant to be more virile, more striking than ever. “L’Homme Intense” embraces its desires, and every woman turns to look as he passes.
