Simply named Y, in reference to this generation, but also echoing the creator's first name, this was a woody fougère composed by perfumer Dominique Ropion. Yves Saint Laurent has in fact revisited this fragrance on several occasions. In 2018, it turned it into an Eau de Parfum dominated by sage. In 2019, it moved toward a more amber flavor of cocoa and vanilla, named Y Live. Once again, in 2020, history repeats itself, giving rise to Y Eau Fraiche, a highly refreshing and luminous fragrance, yet not lacking in power and charisma.

The highly contrasted character of Yves Saint Laurent's Y Eau Fraiche

Eau Fraiches are very numerous on the shelves of men's fragrances. However, most of them are also characterized by a fresh scent that is not very long-lasting, providing a burst of instant energy that fades away far too quickly. Here, Yves Saint Laurent therefore decided to give more presence to this type of fragrance. It chose to craft a kind of modern-day Cologne, blending the energy of an Eau Fraiche with the power of a masculine juice, much more charismatic and spicy. Here, Y Eau Fraiche explores numerous olfactory registers at once. In turn, it is a fresh, spicy, aromatic or woody fragrance. It all begins with a disconcerting blend of lemon and black pepper. The freshness of the citrus immediately clashes with the intensity of the spices. Ginger, in turn, multiplies the energy of this composition. Then, Y Eau Fraiche becomes more aromatic and floral at its heart. It is composed of lavender and geranium, two ingredients freshened with mint and juniper berries. Finally, its masculinity expresses itself more fully in its base, in woody notes of cedar and olibanum.

Yves Saint Laurent's imposing frosted bottle

As for the bottle, Y Eau Fraiche comes in the same container as its predecessors. Its bottle forms a thick glass monolith, at once clean-lined while daring a few bolder touches. Its thick walls reflect the fragrance's quality and natural charisma. Its glass, once transparent, is now frosted, as if covered in frost. The whole is topped with a white cap, evocative of purity and clarity. Finally, as before, the Y Eau Fraiche bottle is decorated with a Y-shaped notch on its right side. This continues with a metal band on its front face, bearing the name of Yves Saint Laurent, understated. Timeless and universal, this bottle reflects with strength and elegance the full power of masculinity. It is a totem paying tribute to masculine creativity.

Y is a juice synonymous with creativity, dedicated to all men who love to follow their passions and forge their own path.
