In order to add even more magic to this event, the house of Prada offered this collection two new opuses in 2015: Infusion d’œillet and Infusion d’Amande. Infusion d’Amande, the retro charm of a note known to all, modernized with an intense tonka bean by the genius of Daniela Andrier.

Infusion d’Amande, or the charm of yesteryear blended with brilliant modernity

From the very first notes of Infusion d’Iris, it was already evident to all that the creation by Daniela Andrier, driven by the inspiration of Miuccia Prada, would definitely not be like the others. Built around scents from another era, pushed to their most aesthetic limits by brilliant modernity, Infusion d’Iris set the future tone for these bottles of the Infusions, released in limited edition until 2015.

Although the Les Infusions Ephémères collection has now gathered all its fragrant marvels into a top-tier range for a wide audience, the creative principles remain largely the same: to exhale the past in order to make it even more alive in the future. Moreover, the creator of these treasures states without hesitation: I have no desire to create something never smelled before, a visionary accord, says Daniela Andrier. In my work, I am obsessed with the idea of reviving the past: it dwells within us, even though it is gone. The point is to translate it without pain or nostalgia, in a joyful way.

And the least that can be said is that this new Infusion d’Amande, with its 1950s Amaretto flavor, is in no way out of place within this blend of eras. Delightfully retro with its almond note while remaining resolutely modern with a biting tonka bean, Infusion d’Amande captivates as much by its delicacy as by its strength.

The softness and sensuality of Infusion d’Amande

The lovely bottle of Infusion d’Amande resembles the wonderful fragrant beauties that came before it in the Les Infusions Ephémères collection. The opulent, faceted glass, like an antique object, once again bears the now-iconic metallic plate of the Prada Infusions. For Infusion d’Amande, the delicate ribbon on the cap takes on soft pale blue tones that pair beautifully with the bright sky blue of the juice glimpsed through the transparency.

Infusion d’Amande opens on notes of Italian mandarin, now the signature of its creator Daniela Andrier. This tangy, fresh opening gives way to a bitter almond that is both powdery and powerful. At the heart, the beautiful and mysterious heliotrope offers its floral and green scents alongside star anise, as aromatic as it is dynamic. The soft depths of tonka bean, blended with cottony white musks, create a sillage of infinite tenderness.

The sweet scent of almond infuses into bergamot water and blends with notes of star anise, while tonka bean underscores the biting sweetness of bitter almond oil. Prada, on Infusion d’Amande.
