The launch is part of the L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme collection, whose original eau de toilette dates back to 1994, a masculine extension of L'Eau d'Issey launched in 1992.

The house presents this creation as the result of a meeting between Sophie Labbé and Alexis Rosenfeld, diver and photographer, founder of the underwater exploration project 1Ocean, conducted with Unesco. This partnership is announced as the creative thread running through the fragrance, inspired by the shifting hues of the ocean.

Wonderland magazine states that perfumers Amandine Clerc-Marie and Sophie Labbé worked together with Alexis Rosenfeld to create two fragrances launched together in 2025: L'Eau d'Issey Eau de Parfum Intense and L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Eau de Parfum.
