Issey Miyake Parfums launches L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Eau de Parfum in 2025, created by perfumer Sophie Labbé. The composition explores the nuances of the ocean, with Sichuan pepper in the top notes, balsam fir at the heart, and cedarwood in the base. The creative partnership with Alexis Rosenfeld, founder of the 1Ocean project, accompanies this launch.

What the label declares
The ingredients list, published under full disclosure, says far more than these three raw materials. Tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, Iso E Super, come right after alcohol, fragrance and water; hexamethylindanopyran, a clean musk, ranks fifth. The announced cedar appears twice: Juniperus virginiana oil and acetyl cedrene.
The citrus notes that the three announced notes leave unsaid are there: lemon, bergamot and bitter orange zest. They are joined by lavender, geranium, cinnamon bark, sandalwood and its santalol, patchouli, vanillin and coumarin, with menthol and carvone for freshness. Three dyes, violet 2, red 4 and blue 1, tint the juice.
Other readings
Wikiparfum retains the same three raw materials as the house, Sichuan pepper, balsam fir and cedarwood, and classifies the perfume as aromatic fougère, whereas the house calls it woody aquatic.
What is left out
The house declares only three raw materials. The lavender, sandalwood, patchouli or cinnamon carried by the label remain supporting materials, outside the notes retained.
