L'Air du Temps Alix D. Reynis

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci returns in a limited edition designed by Antoinette Poisson. It was in 1948 that the house Nina Ricci gave birth to one of its greatest perfumes. It was a floral and spicy juice, at odds with the trends of its time. It also celebrated the joy of peace regained after the war.

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci is an inimitable perfume, which does not merely offer women a scent for nearly 80 years... It also conveys the whole spirit of its era. It seems to hold within it the fervor of the postwar period. With this feminine perfume, the feeling of finally being able to live again gives rise to a floral and spicy breath that never stops seducing. In 2022, Nina Ricci nevertheless takes on the challenge of transforming this historic perfume to create a new limited edition. Here is our review of L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci and Antoinette Poisson.

Nina Ricci and Antoinette Poisson, two standard-bearers of French craftsmanship

First of all, let us note that the collaboration created for this perfume is absolutely extraordinary! Nina Ricci and Antoinette Poisson are two Parisian houses that each have their own creative vision, but that also share common values. Nina Ricci is famous in the perfumery world. Antoinette Poisson, for its part, is a publisher of dominoted paper, preserving a technique dating back to the 18th century. Each of these brands celebrates French craftsmanship in its own way. Both thus merge their poetic visions and their sense of aesthetics, to create a collector's showcase of great beauty, revisiting the legendary scent of L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci.

L'Air du Temps by Antoinette Poisson, a timeless bottle

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci and Antoinette Poisson offers women a bottle of great beauty, entirely timeless. It brings back into the spotlight a shape well known in perfumery, imagined for the very first time in 1951 by the prestigious house Lalique. As a reminder, L'Air du Temps was then presented in a yellow crystal swirl topped with two doves in full flight. Today, this silhouette has been preserved. However, the whole is now decorated with a white lacquer, resembling porcelain. This material gives this bottle a very luxurious look, while echoing the luminosity of the perfume contained within this bottle. Moreover, L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci is now adorned with a blue toile de Jouy pattern, which also takes us back into French heritage. Finally, a luxurious gold finish is also applied to its neck.

Nina Ricci preserves the floral side of its fragrance

L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci reclaims the scent of this cult perfume, while giving it a more modern connotation. This time, the floral fragrance trades its very spicy side for a warmer gourmand character. With L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci, the light endures in an alliance of mandarin and petitgrain. Its summery spirit, meanwhile, is expressed through a floral heart of mimosa and orange blossom. Finally, to satisfy current feminine trends, the whole ends with a gourmand touch of honey and tonka bean. L'Air du Temps by Nina Ricci once again carries us along with it into a true whirlwind of happiness!
