Where to buy

L’Air du Temps by Nina Ricci unquestionably belongs to that category. Created in 1948 to celebrate the newfound freedom of the postwar period, it became a symbol of beauty and absolute femininity. Today, Nina Ricci has decided to transform it into a brand new version. Focus on L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre.

Nuit Pourpre joins Nina Ricci’s Collection Lumière

L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre is not the first revisit of Nina Ricci’s iconic L’Air du Temps fragrance. Indeed, in 2016, three versions of this iconic fragrance had already been released. These were gathered in a set called Collection Lumière. Through it, Nina Ricci unveiled three new facets of L’Air du Temps: l’Aube, le Zénith, and le Crépuscule. As their names suggest, these three fragrances immersed us in different moments of the day. L’Aube was a very floral fragrance based on rose, carnation, and iris. Le Zénith, for its part, was a more sun-kissed and warm fragrance, combining carnation, jasmine, and sandalwood. Finally, le Crépuscule led us into a more narcotic universe, meeting the four o’clock flower warmed with ylang-ylang and vanilla. Continuing this creative trio, Nina Ricci has this time decided to take us into the heart of the night.

L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre, a floral and seductive fragrance

L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre is a chiaroscuro fragrance that gathers in a single breath the opulence of jasmine, the powdery scent of violet, and the incandescence of pink pepper. Its heart, meanwhile, plunges us into the middle of the night. It has nonetheless donned its festive attire, using one of the noblest ingredients in all of feminine perfumery. L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre also contains iris. This highly refined flower is paired with sensual leathery nuances as well as the woody depths of cedar. Styrax finally unfurls its more resinous breath while patchouli finishes structuring the whole.

The L’Air du Temps bottle dons a violet gown

L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre keeps its predecessor’s bottle. It takes the form of a glass swirl topped with a dove. This time, however, the once-familiar bird has truly taken on a feathered look. It is now tinted a mysterious violet color. This bottle also plays on the contrast of chiaroscuro. It thus evokes a mysterious, bewitching beauty. Through this new fragrance, Nina Ricci offers a flight toward a purple night brightened by a vibrant, passionate glow. L’Air du Temps Nuit Pourpre is a fragrance akin to the depths of a night lit by the moon.
